so they stopped making neons?

because the newest year apparently is an 05 according to kbb.com.

i feel like shoving a knife down my throat ):

i'm gonna buy like 5 2005 engines and keep them in top shape to drive my neon for as long as i can... of course they had to take them off the road, because they were too amazing. america cant afford to have its citizens getting 30+ mpg unless they pay 30k for a damn car apparently. this is the worst news i've heard in my entire life.. im sadder now than i was at my grandma's funeral.. this is horrible!!!

Its all good, 10 years of neons were made. So we have a good amount still driving around still.

are the calibers anywhere near as good as the neons?

i dont care about performance.
i care about cost. and looks.
well okay, i refuse to drive an electric car..
0-60 in 12.83 seconds isnt enough for me.

Already talked to some of the people in charge with dodge through the Chrysler customer advisory board. They said the Neon doesn't meet the safety requirements today as it did back when it was being made.

So in other words, yes.. they neon one day might be back, but don't expect it to look the same.

thank god. i spent my afternoon looking at newer cars and the best i could come up with is a ford fiesta.. :supergay:

even if they don't look the same, i just want a zippy little car that

They wont. Or if they do, it wont be called a "Neon" since they never got over the "Hi" campaign.

Imagine how I felt when I bought my fresh 2005 neon in 05 (with 7 miles), and a few months later found out they were stopping production.

HAHAHA i know...I have an 04...

But they have to wait I believe it is 15 years to bring back a model. So we have at least another 10 years by this standard.

(use the impala and I now believe the caprice..it's back in the USA apperently?)

In the 5 years since the Neon has been gone there have been far better cars to come out. It's just a car, and there's always a better one out there.

nowhere yet. maybe i'm just freaking out too much?
theres still so much i want to do with my neon and
i guess i'm just worried that i wont have it long enough
to do all of it. i guess finding a decent engine to swap out
with is my biggest worry..

lol i wouldnt worry about the engine crapping out on u as much as someone t-boning u, most accidents 2gns get into = total, unfortunatley its happened to the best of us

Dude, I still have a 95 neon. Change the oil, if it's an auto get an external tranny cooler and flush it every 30K miles. Other than that, they don't really die, other than users breaking parts like transmissions from burnouts.

Haha this guy. You're so funny. I guess since mine's an '05, I should've never modded it and left it stock? I bought it with 14k miles on it. It's sittin just under 50k. Thanks to 2 combat tours to Afghanistan, it isn't as high as it would've been if it had been driven those 14 months.

Yeah Neon is replaced by Caliber after 2005. It is sad but the good thing is all the Neon owners here really treat those cars well and they will last forever!!!

Don't get the kid going Chris

...he's reminding me of the cartoon character "chicken little" and his "the sky is falling" right now...he's only 17 and he can't fathom the fact that he will probably get some girl knocked up in college and have to sell his neon for about $1000.00 and buy some crappy minivan for about $500 and put about $300 into it to get it on the road and the last $200 on diapers.
