Anyone here have a jeep??

Post by n20sxt » Sat Oct 09, 2010 5:33 pm

My dad has a 96 Jeep grand Cherokee with about 130 thousand miles on it and its had this stupid starting problem for years. Ill get in the car turn the key to on and i can't hear the fuel pump prime. It will turn over / start up for a couple seconds then choke out, sputter and then die. The fuel filter has been changed and i checked and its getting spark in all cylinders.
Fuel pump right? ummmm

Well here's the weird part, its been doing this for 3 years and its totally random when it does. There is no consistency in when it decides to do this. I was just wondering if anyone else that has a jeep or knows anything about em has had this problem. i dont wanna piss away 100 bucks for a fuel pump if it doesn't fix the problem... its been to numerous mechanics and no one can figure it cause its soo inconstant.

It got me stranded at the mall yesterday and i had to walk 3 miles back home in the rain. I'm honestly about to smash it into a tree just so i dont have to deal with this fucking thing :banghead:

I need to find a way to get my neon out here naaoww :tardbang:

It's probably just a crap pump motor.

Did you check the battery's main ground and the grounds on the block? They like to shit out on those.
