Junk Yard Day...

Post by foxracing7469ab » Sat Jan 01, 2011 7:46 pm

Went to LKQ today and they were having their half off sale :)

so i got a lot of stuff for my neon for $40

I got a new trunk deck, headlight screws, a break pedal cover, a new rim, sun visor clips and a center counsel top.

I wouldn't have even known about it if the shitty roads in Rockford wouldn't have bent the hell out of my rim and messed up my alignment, my bad luck turned into something good :)

1/2 sale today ?? :o Damn !!
I didn't know !! :(

If I had known, I *might* have gone, in spite of the -30deg.F windchill (or at least, it sure felt that way.)

Did you see anything else 'interesting' there ?? I don't really need any parts, but if something really cool shows up, like a 1st gen ACR with Konis or a 2nd gen with Dynamic struts, sure...... :)

there was a few things there like extra doors and stuff like that there that could be cleaned up and sold for some extra cash and their sale goes on until tomorrow. there was a 1st gen there with white acr rims. and i wasn't looking for struts or anything like that but im sure there is a few things worth picking up. It was cold so i didn't really look a whole lot lol i was freezing.

but i paid $3.75 for a steel wheel, $15.00 for a trunk deck, $7.50 for a door panel and under $5 for the rest of the stuff i got!

I'm sure I'll make a trip out to LKQ one of these days.

I'll probably wait until spring, however. :)

Wowie kazowie, that's cheap. Did they have any 5 speed transmissions? I'll go buy 5.

For cheap transmissions, absolutely! I tend to break them often, so I just make them a maintenence item. Transmission, plugs, oil every 1000.

I still regret not going back for that PT Cruiser MTX, back during Neons 2010. :banghead:
