Nice post Manny (and I mean that). Wiggy is okay physically, but emotionally he has a tough battle ahead of him. His passenger died at the scene when he was ejected from the vehicle. Right now no one is certain, not even the police, what happened to cause him to veer off the road into oncoming traffic. But as Manny said, alcohol and street racing were not a factor.
May his passenger RIP, and my thoughts are with all of those involved and their families/friends.

That's wild.. Sucks to hear about his friend though.. I really liked wiggy's skittle too

This is horrible news.
I imagine he'll be traumatized by this incident, even if it's not his fault.
I hope Wiggy comes out of this O.K.

He was having wheel/tire issues the week beforehand. No one really knows exactly what happened yet, not even the police.MyNeonSaysHi wrote:Yup. I wonder what caused him to violently crash like that? I know his friends say he wasn't speeding, but the cops do.
I can't judge, I speed everyday and always enjoy a good highway pull.
So sad though, it will be real hard to get pass this but wiggy must understand, the passenger chose to not wear a seatbelt, so it's his own fault, not wiggy.

Cops consider 1MPH over the limit speeding, so it's hard to say how fast any suspected speeding actually was. Going over a median though...
I agree about the seatbelt. The passenger was not a child and, unfortunately, made a poor choice not to wear it. May he rest in peace and may God help both families through this difficult time.

And I hope Wiggy recovers quickly.
They'll both be in my thoughts.

Wow I'm sorry to hear about this. Wiggy was well-liked, especially on SRT forums. Glad he's going to be alright. Interested in hearing more details about what happened.

I just saw this on SRT Forums when I was searching for something via Google. I couldn't believe that it was the same Wiggy (didn't know if a person on the SRT forums shared the same username).
I hope he recovers quickly. I can't imagine how it's going to be for him to live knowing his friend died. My wife has a similar story about how her friend during HS lost control of his truck on a curve and shot off the road. Slammed into a tree, the engine got shoved through the firewall and killed her friend while my wife got ejected through the windshield and survived. Our son is named after her friend. I can only imagine the trauma that both my wife and Wiggy will have to deal with

Nice to see people over here being cordial about this. Wiggy is a great guy and I hope he can find some serenity down the road in what happened. Physically I can tell you Wiggy is OK. Mentally and emotionally, however, is a different story.

What exactly were the 'wheel/tire' issues he was having ?? An out of balance condition, or bent rim ??

Last week basically one of his tires totally came off the wheel itself as he was coming out of a parking lot. He had Facebook pictures of it and it was quite a sight to see. Having something like that happen on a freeway would be catastrophic. Again, that is speculation, though. That may not have played a role in the accident itself but it's been definitely considered given the fact that it happened a week earlier and he was on the same wheels/tires on Thursday night, albeit some fresh rubber on the one that dismantled itself.
