The Dodge Venom was a
rear wheel drive concept car built by the Dodge Corporation in 1995, utilizing the Cab forward (car) design structure. It
used the Dodge Neon as a base and featured a
V6 engine capable of producing 260 horsepower (190 kW). It was capable of 0-60 in 5.2 seconds.

Article says it "used the Neon as a base" but it looks nothing like a Neon, is RWD unlike a Neon, and has a motor that was never offered in a Neon.
No, Dodge never built a RWD Neon, sorry.

Nope, I just don't consider it to have any Neon-like qualities.

Has something more important, it's built on a Neon platform. I wonder if they used pre-existing drivetrain parts to make it RWD or if they were prototypes. If we can learn more about this it could make a RWD swap more realistic.

I think you're dreaming.
The FWD drivetrain is more suited for an AWD setup since the trans has outputs on both sides. You'd have to swap that.
Then there's the motor which has mounts in MUCH different spots than what an RWD motor has, so you couldn't use that.
You would have to do lots of fab no matter what you do for a motor/trans, plus you'd STILL have to modify the floorboards/crossmembers/etc to make it fit. This is not your key, never has been the key, never will be the key.
Besides... "based on the Neon platform" means nothing. Ever watch a movie that's "based on a real story"? They take one small part of the story, make something completely different out of it. Exactly what seems to have been done here.
Besides the word "neon" this thread contains no neon related material at all. You'd do well to stop trying to claim it does.

Sean's right. This isn't the Neon platform, it was BASED on the platform. Meaning they started with that, then fucked it all up.
Prototype, meaning they actually produced maybe . . . one? There are 0 parts out there to make a RWD swap.

not quite true, there is a lot of fab work involved as Random said (motor mounts, drive shaft, correct axles) but there is a tranny that will bolt right up to our motors, its a jeep tranny if i remember correctly

I believe the context there was that there aren't parts out there to do it WITHOUT FAB WORK required.

edited but i also did say "a lot of fab work involved" and he said "0 parts" so i listed the 1 part at would work without any fab at all. lol

It'll bolt to the engine... there aren't any crossmembers to hold it in place, etc. Therefore, that trans won't work without fab work requited... placing it in the 0 parts that would work without fab work.

Of course fab work would be required... Is there a vehicle out there that can be changed to RWD by just simply bolting in new parts? Because I don't know of any.
All I wonder is if the RWD components were already being produced by DX or if it was all prototype but something tells me not all of it was.

Yeah your idea wont work, everything on that car is prototype. Its at autorama in detroit every year, its pretty slick but good luck ever getting your hands on it.

Mad? No. Frustrated by your continued idiocy? Yes.
No, you cannot use any parts from a prototype car for a RWD swap. You'd be better off grabbing yourself a JY motor and trans and fabbing up your own parts, since that's what you'll have to do.

Sean isn't saying a RWD Neon isn't possible. He's saying that looking at this concept vehicle for parts is not the way to go about it. Which is correct.
Sean is small-minded and can't think outside the box because his point is that some one-off concept vehicle won't allow you to bolt on RWD?

If they were mass produced parts from the bin it could shed some light into the possibility is all I said. Random needs to relax with all this swearing and name calling out no where.
And I'm still waiting for the car that can be RWD swapped with no fab work involved you seem to believe in.

Most concept vehicles do not have mass produced parts, especially one that never went further than just a "Look what we can do" auto show vehicle.

You could convert my Audi to RWD just by taking out the front axles.
