You could convert my Audi to RWD just by taking out the front axles.

Guys, lighten up with the name calling. It's not necessary.

There very well could be many production left over parts on that car, however that doesn't mean they will bolt right into a Neon. The 3.5 is a common engine. The 6 speed could have been out of a viper, or even got one from a non-Chrysler product.

The wheelbase is similar to a Neon. It probably has a unibody. It does share design cues from the Neon, very sleek design for 1994.

In the end this means nothing for converting a Neon to RWD.

I was hoping that maybe there was a secret recipe of pre-existing (not prototype) DX parts out there to make it possible that we or I didn't know about yet but if there was I guess it would have been found out by now.

It's not like there is some step-by-step layout of how to convert the neon to RWD. Even if the prototype used the unibody of the neon it still teaches us nothing about how to get it to a RWD platform.

I've only ever seen ONE person convert a 1gn to AWD, and they basically had to use an ENTIRE Subaru to do it, so that in the end it basically WAS a Subaru; not a 1gn neon.

Cuz the fab is already done. I've known about those kits for years.

The neon chassis could never have a little to no fab , use factory parts rwd swap. due to the rear suspension, mounts and the rear trunk floor design. something like a cobalt, cavy with a beam rear axle would be more suitable or like the focus with its style rear suspension.

neon rwd = cutting, welding, fab work work. end of discussion.

concept cars are a dream and one off's.

Another thing, are we sure this even moved under it's own power?

That makes things really easy when it doesn't have to move under it's own power.

You could always put the dodge neon door bumpers on it.. That would make it legit neon.

Alabama? That thing is atrocious.

Wasted it on a sedan, even.

Any clue as to what drive line it has? Sounded like it wasn't hitting on all cylinders, or it could just be the horrible sound quality.

I built it, It has 3 years of dirt on it, and a 350/th350 drivetrain. the camera sucks balls. I like sedans, because they are way more plentiful.

QFT.

Finding certain coupe parts is a pain at times.

It's not the cameras fault it's the Chevy fault for sounding like shit.

I did most of the work in a single week right before n2k11 and then ended up not taking it because my steering angles were wrong. I have since fixed that, and it drives wonderfully.

Whats the weight and power of the car? Clean it up man and get some good videos of it!

I haven't put it on a scale yet, and the motor is stock right now except for carb, intake, headers, and 3" flowmasters. My friend with a 12.9 gtp pulled on me slightly, so i guess it runs 13.0. it is much prettier clean and with the 17" wheels it has now.
the front suspension is all stock neon including springs, withthe knuckles swapped side to side to get the steering arms in front. the front sits at factory height, if not a little higher.
