Good job hosting through them, they are probably the cheapest around. For the layout, if you're not too familiar with html then just find a free template.

http://www.freewebtemplates.com/ is a good site for that

I want to start a business doing the same thing, I started by building the comp I have right now like 2 years ago, it is still a great comp : ) Good luck with the business man!

Well the easiset and fanciest way to build a page is using PHP nuke, they are extremely easy to use.

If you want to use HTML i recommend adobe golive

I know basic Html... Thats about it.

I paid about $25 total for 2 years of domain and 3 months of service.

Thanks for the link... Ive been building pc's for awhile now, I love doing it. I get all my parts from www.newegg.com. Today the screwed up my order for the first time. I ordered a 20 gig seagate ide HD... They sent me a maxtor 40 gig SATA drive... Doesnt even work with the motherboard... This is the 4th or so time Ive ordered from them...

First off, stay away from templates. I guess it's an OKAY way to start, but after you start learning, ditch the templates or you may as well stick with the GeoCities PageBuilder crap. And the computer industry sucks... I worked in it in a local business for 3 years and it's rough. Constant price changes and people that don't want to spend money. After your business grows, look at hiring someone with good web design skills and can work on computers (usually, they go hand-in-hand), hire a design agency for a website, or of course, take some lessons in web design and read read read. Website designing is SUPER profitable, but you gotta' have the design skills and marketing to hit it off. Also, keep your eyes peeled for those that start businesses with a lot of money. There's a website sale for $2,000. :) Read articles about web design and look at other large corporation websites to get ideas. Remember about copyright infringement, though. :) Copy and pasting other websites to yours is a bad idea. ;)

Just my $0.02... Well, $0.03. :)

And if anybody ever buys their domain name and needs hosting, let me know. I can get you a good deal since I have a server of my own that's wicked fast and has had 100% uptime for two years straight now.

for example, heres a site dedicated to finding people using other peoples layouts w/ and wo/ permission

http://www.ripperhunting.com/

as a former/current webdev its flattering and saddening to see someone rip one of your layouts/designs.. but it happens.
