A favorite memory of your neon?
The title says it all.. Is there any favorite memory or moment you had with your neon? Just random post!
My neon, everybody thought it was gonna die on me any time soon, it was leaking oil, heats up, had a limp.. Everybody said it wouldn't last a hundred miles. Yet I decided to put enormous faith in the little neon, I live in Chicago, and I decided to drive the neon out west, through the midwest, and over the mountains in colorado, even visited pike's peak at 14k and continued all the way to california! Unfortunately the only issue that happened was i ran into a curb and the car flew in midair flattening the tire because i was distracted by a dwarf skateboarding down the street. (Probably the only freak accident that's never heard of!) But it got me back home afterwards! Then I decided to push it and drove the car to key west, fla. Gladly there wasn't another freak accident of any sort .. Drove all the way up to Toronto, Canada and back to Chicago. Everybody never doubted the little car ever again.. Hence my username!
Anybody have a good moment with their neon? Could be anything!

My favorite memory of my 1GN was back in late March or early April of 1994. 1995 Neons had just been introduced so seeing one in person was quite rare. I was sitting at a stoplight in downtown Indy around lunch time and a crowd suddenly gathered around my car, people gaping in the windows, walking 360 degrees to scope it out. "What kind of car is that?" "A Chrysler? Really?" I was so proud of that little car.
So far, my favorite memory of my SRT is from the day of the Columbus, OH meet last spring. I was on I-70 somewhere and there was suddenly a large US highway that merged onto the interstate. Traffic started to bunch up and I noticed what appeared to be a stock black 2GN in my rear view, pretty close to my tail. I quickly merged into the passing lane and sped up. Turned out that the other driver had an SRT as well and the race was on! We got to a pretty good clip and I was in the lead when I got to thinking how stupid it was for me to risk a ticket and slowed back down to 65. He got parallel with me, we waved to each other and he took off. The look on his face was priceless ("What? An old guy in that car?").

In my old 1gn coupe getting asked if I had a helmet after I went 13.5@103. Or maybe 3 months after I bought the car when I took it to Pittsburgh and averaged 45MPG. That made me so happy with the car.
So many neons so little time.

I've had alot of years of the neon....prolly not alot as most, but in my eyes alot. since my first car that is*. But my best moment is more of how proud my neon survived a 5 hour snow storm drive. NH to NY (3hr trip), with bald bald bald tires. Some one reprogrammed my GPS to avoid tolls and such, which brought me into the mountains. Most the time I kept it in 2nd gear and thankfully this truck ahead of me was making tracks and double tappin to warn me on certain spots. I'm very surprised I made it honestly. That was with the 01 ATX....I cant wait to see how the 03 MTX going to treat me. I love neons.
Project 003. Just building a Daily Driver with some upgrades.

I have a FEW memories actually...
My first car was a 98 Highline ATX sedan.
I got it from my uncle in Indiana. I went to visit for a week in the summer of "05". He let me use it to "get around" while I was visiting. I fell in love with the car as soon as I pulled out of the driveway. I went back in Feb. "06" (my high school graduating year ) when he said I could have it. I was so excited... I used my allowance to take a Greyhound back down there (6hr trip but well worth it )
The day before I left with it he said "if you have ANY problems with it before you leave, I'm keeping it." ......I caught a flat as soon as I left the house. I was so mad that I did something stupid. I stole a tire off another 1GN that was sitting in a lot with a "FOR SALE" sign in it. (I'm SORRY!!!...don't judge me lol)
Drove it home with NO problems. The only issues I ever had out of that car (aside from getting stuck in a mud ditch) was the fuel pump going out and the rack & pinion snapping .
The motor blew a month after I sold it lol.
I got laid in the back seat of it 4 times.
The front tire blew on the highway and I almost went it a ditch (Firestone tire )
The rear tire blew when I was about 40 miles from home, and school (that I was skipping to get laid that 3rd time lol)
I got like 6 tickets in it lol.
And now, I'm in my first 2GN and it's an AMAZING car! ...haven't gotten laid in it yet but I'm working on it!
