Some choice quotes for your entertainment...

"the transmission is not made out of the strong metals that normal cars use. it's much thinner metal, and therefore are only meant to work for a few thousand miles."

or,

" it is an american car on prehistoric suspension."

Wow.
Drive it like you stole it, and work on it like you married it.

"um neons arn't bad but i wouldn't buy one. id go with a cavelier, but they kinda suk also. i drive a Subaru Impreza WRX STI 2004, bought on Ebay, try there, look 4 the pple with max rep and comments."

My favorite comment. Looks at cheap cars and compares it to STI

I know the automatics have a very bad rep, but confession time. I beat the piss out of my auto, and it's got 100k on it and still is going strong.

That question the person on Yahoo asked only reinforces the idea that people that know their car and what their doing (and how to maintain it) will have better luck with their car. Dumb people that don't EVER do any maintenance to their car are the problem, not the cars...

I took the '99 in the other day to get an alignment after the shadow knuckle install, and the guy was commenting on how good of condition it was in for it's age/mileage.

I mentioned it was in pretty bad shape when I got it, kind of a basket case. The douche says " Oh those were a basket case when they were new"

I'm like, "Really? Good way to get repeat customers" He didn't have too much to say after that...

Gee, it has 230,000 plus, is 14 years old, you comment on how well it has held up, then say they were junk from the start. :tardbang:

Well Bill, apparently he felt you needed to know that the car you spent time and money fixing and were paying him to work on was trash and that he doesn't want your money to fix it.

People are flippin' idiots

He was referring to the whole car in general...

He was just the numb nut writing up the paperwork, not the actual person working on it.
