Yeah, Neon had over 200k miles. And the rustoleum paint was going to shit and did not want to spend several grands on a real paint job on a 13 year old car with 200k miles. What really made me decide to sell it was, it got broken into a month ago (second time in 2 years) and it doesn't have an alarm system on it. Plus, the Chrysler grill flew off somewhere while on the highway and so there's an empty hole in the front and didn't feel like spending $50-$80 on a new one. Also, the interior carpet gets wet in the rain, and I can't source the leak anywhere. All these things made me a bit fed up, so I decided it's time for it to go, and get something else.

Wow, I had no idea about the problems you were having with it. I understand now but I hate to see people going to the Dark Side (not buying Mopars as replacements for their Neons).
Now that's funny.MyNeonSaysHi wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3TJC2HSjRI

Yeah, I didn't tell anyone about the problems I had on 2gn, because well, I stopped being active here lol. But yah, I've always had a thing for roadsters. But S2000's and 350z's were out of my budget...and Z3's are gas guzzlers (for their slowness). So the choice narrowed down to Miata or Audi TT. I've read many people had to spend tons on maintenance on Audi's (Jeff Menninger included ). And so I went with the reliable miata. It's cheap to maintain, cheaper insurance than the neon (surprisingly), and gets about same gas mileage as the neon too.
Plus, I don't think it's just me, but I think the NB (2nd gen 1999-2005) miatas look similar to the froggy neon look at some angles. I'm not a fan of the first or third generation style, but I have a soft spot for the 2nd gen.
Here are a few shots of the new ride. Flame suit on
