Had a pretty good day. Calm mostly but my son just had a mini meltdown. He'll get over it.

I'm wearing pants. They are lovely. I bought a headlight today. Not like a driver's side or passenger side. The kind meant for spelunking. It's so glorious I just did the dishes wearing it so I could see every little spot. I think they should be a new fashion trend. If fanny packs can be worn, I'll wear my damn headlight.

I'll see what I can do. I can tell you that I would be more likely to be able to work it into my schedule if I got to see everyone's junk. Actually, now that I think about it, pants are just fine.

Just finished reading 11/22/63 by Stephen King. Read almost half the day with no pants on. It was great.

So I just spent some time outside freezing, with my pants on, figuring out what was creaking in the front of the Cherokee. Turned out to be a u joint in the knuckle.

So I but my foot on the brake, and the rear line to the back blows out. GRRRR.

The rest of the lines look pretty bad too, so I guess the next project is all new brake lines on the rust heap. But not today, or for quite a few days for that matter. Not something I feel like doing in the cold.

'01 is now rocking the 4x4 look on SRT springs. It's wearing it's neon pants.

The rear Tokico's were blown, and the car was bottoming.

Apparently they didn't like the last cold snap we had. It was like a solid suspension in the back. I was afraid the springs had broken again.

I think the oil just got so thick it blew the seals. I could literally jump up and down in the trunk, and the suspension would not move.

Then once things warmed up, it went to hell fast.

Might be selling some Vogtland springs in the near future. If I ever get another 2gn, it will probably have coil overs.

Clocking in at 9 p.m. for Indianapolis-Columbus, OH-Indianapolis route. Forecast is calling for 1-3 inches of snow on the return drive. I'll be wearing my Canadian longjohns under the pants for sure- some Happy New Year. :cussing:

:laughing3: Nope, just cotton. I have some Stanfield's from Nova Scotia that I ordered through the mail in 2012. I couldn't find any American-made ones so I bought Canadian.

not sure if you fixed the lines on the jeep yet or not, but you might want to look into the prebent lines from Mopar if not. Had the same thing happen on my parents cherokee last year and my dad bought the prebent lines for something stupid like $8...

Thanks for the tip. Mine is a 2 door though, so they may have changed them, because Daimler.

Haven't even looked at pricing yet. Will look at the PN#s and see what it's going to cost. I'm probably going to have to replace every last piece from the looks of this POS.

I have never had a vehicle rust as bad as this thing. I guess I wasted my time hand washing and blasting the underside once a week every damn winter. Even the front axle is horribly rusted on the inside.

Meanwhile all the hard lines on the '01 neon are still looking brand new. I had to replace the rear rubber lines due to the metal tube at the wheel cylinder snapping off both sides when I dropped the struts out. I guess I changed them for a reason. one good hard stop and it would have been over with.

Maybe I should have waited for the last year of Cherokee's produced. But somehow, I don't think it would have mattered. My buddies '96 that he never washed or took care of is in far better shape now, bodywise, than my '99 was two years after I bought it.

LOL, The only brake tube that is reasonable for the Cherokee is the left side rear axle, for $5.85. The other two hard lines that are still available, are ~$38 each. All else is "Part not found".

Value line front rubber hoses are ~$30 each. If I wanted the "Good" brake hoses: $419 for one, and $387 for the other. :tardbang:

Copper Nickel here I come... :thefinger: Mopar

^^ at OEM prices!

Wish me luck- got the Indianapolis-Columbus, OH-Indianapolis route again Saturday night (10 p.m.). At least I got a break last Thursday morning as the snow didn't start until I was returning to Indy (first noticed it in Richmond, IN, just over the Ohio line). Tomorrow, snow is supposed to start before I clock in. Then I have to work Sunday afternoon during predicted blowing snow and artic air blasts. :banghead:

Ball State University in Muncie, IN is opening residence halls on Saturday instead of Sunday to encourage returning students to get back before the storm hits. Monday trash pickup here in Indy has been cancelled as up to 12 inches are forecasted for Sunday. This storm should be a doozy. :cussing:
