New Car! *UPDATE! New Pics in Post #16*

Post by ThatKevin » Sun Mar 02, 2014 11:28 am

Soooooooooo, decided not to get into another Neon SRT. They're just too hard to find a clean car with decent mileage for a reasonable price tag. Ended up getting a Caliber SRT yesterday! I won't have it until next weekend though.

- 2008
- 139xxx km / 86xxx mi
- fully loaded (nav, kicker system, leather, sunroof)
- refinished stockers in gunmetal

Plans:
- BC extreme low coilovers
- Whoosh camber arms
- I/E
- Rice plate
- MS1Kv3
- some dope ass sweet hella cool rims

Here are some pics from the dealer ad:

Can't wait for you to find some stupid, self-inflicted flaw that makes you complain and sell it :thumbup:

Haha but seriously. Quit buying black vehicles.

Won't happen with this one.

Self inflicted????

Wasn't because of me the silver one blew :( and the black one had too many issues, and needed too much money for me to keep.

Congrats, even though you haven't gotten it yet. Must be super excited to post a car you do not have in your possession yet. :lol:

Not sure what the MS1Kv3 is, but I am guessing Mopar Stage 1 Killer Version 3...Such a joke. You know DiabloSport is coming out with a tuning device for the Caliber SRT-4 here soon. :)

Pull the front/rear crossmembers out and repaint them ASAP. They are as bad, or probably worse for rust than the 2gn neon's front crossmember. I knda chuckled at the rust on my Mom's '07 last year when replacing the struts.

Lots of progress within the last two months :D I think I'm done for this summer, now to just enjoy the car. Only thing left is to dyno it. Most guys are putting down 320-340whp with the same mods, so if I can break 320whp I'll be happy. Pretty sure there's a dyno next month I'll be going to. Also, decided not to slam this car. 245/40's and wheel gap #weaksauce.

I actually liked the stock rims, but every other csrt has stock rims so I needed something else. Plus, for some reason I wanted to go 18's instead of the stock 19's.

Pretty much.

Neon = 17x8 +35 205/45
Caliber = 18x8.5 +20 245/40 (10mm spacer in the rear)

That's a beautiful car, but there are no "reasonable" Calibers around here, let alone an SRT4. Congrats on the awesome find, that car looks mean as hell.

My favourite part is that tune for tune (stock turbo), these take NSRT's ;)

Well of course. You got a bigger turbo, VVT and a more sophisticated motor. Of course it is going to net better numbers then a Neon SRT-4 tune for tune.

Is the nsrt faster stock, thought it was because the caliber is so heavy

Same size turbo, TD04. I didn't know how it would hold up against a Neon though. 17lb tune (Cali) vs 22lb tune (Neon). Also, the Caliber is heavier by 300ish lbs.
ckrock946 wrote:Is the nsrt faster stock, thought it was because the caliber is so heavy
Stock vs stock I'm pretty sure the Cali takes it. There was a constant battle at a local(ish) track and the cali was always a tenth of a second or two faster in the 1/4m.

There are a lot of pros and cons to owning one over the other, I do miss my Neon(s).
