So my mom recently picked up a brand new 2006 Hyundai Tiburon GT Limited Edition. It's pretty freaking nice, although I tried in vain to convince her to buy the Special Edition black on black.. with black.. 6 speed manuel special edition, and failed horribly.

My general impression with Hyundai is that they seem to have made vast improvments as of the past couple of years, they arnt the car company they used to be.

What do you guys think about them, have they impressed you with their progress, or do you still think eww Korean made?

Oh and here are some shots of her car. I had to take them in the garage because it is raining.. and will be raining for the next few days.

They do have that 10 year 100 thousand mile warrenty. Which i guess kinda helped stem any worries my mom had, she wont exactly be running the quarter mile in it. Although my mom has bought every generation eclipse that has been on the market, kinda suprised she didnt pick up a new one instead of the Tiburon. Tho something is up with the local ford/mitsu dealership, wasnt able to sell cars for a bit, so that was probably the reason.

The car does have some 'up and go' to it, great stopping power, and considerate handling. I think it's a pretty great car.Overall, it's about it being for my mom, and she's happy with it, so im happy.

Haha.

Well my step fathers a police officer for the local PD, and works at the college when he's not on patrol. And my mothers a probation officer and shes pretty busy as well. Im afraid thats the best it will be for a long time.

my buddy has one with the sequential atx w/ cai and it pulls pretty hard. my other buddy has a 1st gen tib and its nice too. hyundai is ok, but the tibs are the only ones id get if i were gonna mod it. the others just dont add up imo. nice car tho i like it. the interior isnt so pretty tho, the tan looks outta place imo.

I totally agree. I told my mother to get the all black 6 speed one, but shes drove manuels her whole life and thought it was time for a change.. something about getting older or something.

All black everywhere, rims and all. It was unbelieveably hott

lol.. old people

just remember that hyundai is very picky about their warrenty stuff. all maintenence must be done on time and records kept. i have heard hyundai likes to void warrentys for lack of maintenence records or being a little late with maintenance stuff.

Suprisingly it was way worse a month ago, we all worked on it when she bought that car a few weeks ago, just so she could park it inside.

Have you seen the dual exhaust tips on the 2006 sonata? Freaking like 3" wide. Ive seen v8's with smaller piping.
