Triple digit temps have been spreading across the west, and into parts of the midwest.

We've had some warm mid 80's days here thru June. BUT last night we hit 38* for an overnight low, was almost going to bring up some wood and start the wood stove AGAIN !
YES I do feel bad for the excessive heat wave out thru the mid west and west, those kind of temps are insane!

In WA state? I didn't know that it got that hot there- this is unusual, correct?
Yeah, I can count the amount of times I've seen 100 degrees here on one hand. It'll touch 90 once a year, maybe every other year, but triple digits is indeed pretty rare.

Living in MD most of my life, we usually hit low 100's a couple times a summer, but a "heat wave" is considered being 93+. We're having some pretty low temps these last few days, but I'll take it over the heat where the AC runs all day with the kids and the wife being home.

Ho. Lee. Shit.

We're breaking some records this weekend. I haven't seen temps like this since I went to Vegas.

GOOD LUCK enduring those temps!
While I HATE the extreme cold, I just as much dislike those high temps also!

What has your humidity been like? I remember high temps when I visited Las Vegas back in the late '80's but there was little humidity so it was pretty comfortable. When I lived in Clearwater, FL back in the late '70's and early '80's, the humidity was a killer!

Humidity has been in the 60's and 70's. Not as bad as Florida, but still worse than Vegas. Today we're aiming for 110+. It's going to be quite warm.

I hope that the weather for Carlisle week shapes up. I'm going to be working on my car starting on Saturday and am hoping for dry weather.

It's supposed to hit 100 here again this week. This summer has been incredibly hot and dry here.

Tons of smoke has now rolled in from the wildfires burning in the eastern half of the state. It makes the sun glow red. Kind of an apocalyptic vibe. The air quality sucks. Combined with the 99 degree heat, it sucks.

LOL
I think we are currently getting the weather YOU reported of COLD, but with lake effect from Lake Erie we've had 5 inches of snow so far. With a couple more through Monday!
Got the General Altimax Arctic-12's on the G6 and same brand with studs on the Journey just before this all hit. My Lucerne is doing great with almost 4.5k miles since getting it. since I don't "have to" travel in bad weather much, it is staying on the new all season tires it came with this year. Luna is going to try and get by with the all season 15" tires ... we shall see how it goes.

We got off easy compared to some other nearby areas around me. Got a total of 5 inches on Sunday that ended about 9:00pm. Was an interesting mix thru the weekend with rain and snow, totaling 10" of snow and probably a good 1/2" of rain mixed in thru the whole weekend! Warmest it ever got was 35* for a very short time period. Gotta LOVE the snowbelts below Buffalo, NY!

I just got back from a week in Hawaii. It was 84 and sunny when I left. Fortunately, it was about 60 here in Washington when I got back. It's a little chillier now, but still way above freezing and only light rain. Pretty mild weather for this area. It's supposed to get colder next week, so we'll see how that goes.

Looks like I'm gonna have to break down and finally mount the snow tires on my 04. Older Genera Altimax Artic tires in 175/65/14. A little short, but work great in the snow.

@ INUVJerry
FIRST READ, THE 175/65 - 14'S SEEM A BIT OF AN ODD SIZE. We ran with 185/65 -14'S on our old Neon. And what Luna ran on last year. Sadly they were a mix of 2 brands and 1 each of them finally gave out. Tires were OLD (+10 yrs) and had been used on 3 different small cars that we had.
Good luck to you this WINTER season!

Yeah, it's a hair shorter and thinner than stock, but it is a factory option for 1gn neons. The main reason I got them was the price, I picked up one set of 4 for $100, and a second set of 4 for $75 from two different people lol. They are date coded 2012, but were stored just fine so I'm going to rock them until I wear them out. A true night and day difference between all seasons.

I really need new tires on my Journey. They aren't bald yet, but they're pretty low on traction. They weren't confidence inspiring in the snow last year and they haven't gotten any better since then. To make matters worse, they're 19" tires, which is kind of an oddball size these days. Not a ton of options and they're kind of expensive.

At that price, then heck yeah use them!
Around here it seems that all the smaller 14' tires are not stocked as well anymore. Thus to get them, prices are just about as high as more common larger tires (new).

Yeah. 19's may look good on the car but a real pain factor on the budget when time to get new "skins" for them. I'm HAPPY my son listened to me about not getting bigger rims. Around here, they're not needed other than looks. And tire costs with our cratered roads from seasonal ravages would make them prone for damage/high replacement costs.
Getting the SNOW I "hexed" you with yet?

Not yet. It looks like it's going to stay above freezing for a while. Lots of rain, though. We typically don't see snow until January or February. It kind of varies and it never sticks around for long. At least that's how it goes in the western lowlands. The mountain passes and the eastern half of the state get a lot of snow. I tend to avoid those areas during the cold months.

ROFL ! :)
More likely due to CLIMATE CHANGE than my "hexing" you! I heard reports that Hawaii just had a "blizzard" after you returned home! That is what I saw as a headline on the internet.

"Climate change"... IMO, an invention of tree-huggers and the Democrat party. Elevations on the mountains there so colder temperatures and possible moisture in the form of snow. Same thing with higher elevations in Oregon so no "climate change". USA Today reports that Hawaii once had a temp of !2 degrees back in 1979 so this isn't a recent thing.
