Got a Good Deal on Rotors!

Post by 03sxt » Sat Mar 25, 2006 1:05 pm

Another happy eBay story... :)

I just bought a set of rotors from a '05 Neon with 2,000 miles on them for $30 shipped today. It's definitely time to do brakes and I was doing my normal eBay browsing when I saw them listed. I just need to get some brake pads and I'm all set. :) I'm not going to buy those used, though. Just thought I'd share that with everyone.

I got my Cross Drilled and Slotted Rotors from Cquence Motorsports. Paid like 120 for a set (F&R)

Awesome quality and they stop very well.

Before anybody says something about the brittleness of Cross Drilled rotors.. I plan on Motorsport activity this summer.. so :P

Yeah, my bad. These are stock OEM from an SXT w/ 2000 miles. They look real good, too... No wear at all.

How many miles do you have? I'm wondering when mine will need done. Mine are already pulsating at 25k.

The car has 67,000 (or right around there) on the ticker. It was time for rotors about 5,000 miles ago though, I just haven't gotten around to doing them.

I had to change mine at 40k (on my SXT)

I lived in the country and would go through puddle after puddle on my country road - So my rotors got warped over time . . .

If you live in a pretty well paved and dry area - they should last longer than mine did

Well, mine were probably ready to be changed when I bought the car, but I didn't notice any problems until recently when I put the new wheels on... I saw about 1/16" of pad left. My rotors are also well grooved, which is why I went and bought new(er) ones. There's probably a good 1/8" grooves in them from the shot pads. :?
