Fall Out Boy in concert

Post by LaidNeon » Sun Mar 26, 2006 1:24 am

I never would have thought a fall out boy concert would have kicked as much ass as it did!! They are so much harder in conert than they are on CD. They were there with From First to Last, Hawthorne Heights, & All American Rejects. All the bands were awesome. I bought the New HH CD & it was Autographed by all the members of the bad. Oh man i still can't hear shit

My Wife Wanted to see Fall Out Boy & All American Rejects. We could have gotten floor seats, but she didn't want to be in a mosh pit so we got seat tickets. I was like "baby its a fall out boy concert, their music isn't for moshing!" Boy was i wrong, lol.

The music is exactly whats its about. when a band sells out there in it for the money.... FOB has there own clothing line....its not about the music with them anymore....

I hate when people say "sell out"

whos not in the music industry for money ? - and IF a band isnt big enough for the big money - Im certain they wish they were . . . .

What If you could get paid for browsing this forum and working on your car (Getting paid for what you like to do)

Im not a big FOB fan by anymeans (Ill listen to them when they come on the radio . . .thats about it) - But just b/c they make money doesnt mean they are sell outs . . .

If they werent in it for the money - tickets would be alot cheaper - CD's would be cheaper (although bands dont make as much on CD sales) . . . Money is what makes the world go round . . . .

True true. My buddy liked Tool until they hit the radio, then he hated him and called them sellouts. I'm like, "Dude, they made it on the radio because they're good and more people started hearing them and reacting." I guess then all bands that become successful are 'sell-outs'?

bands dont actually have anything to do with how much tickets and cds cost. the label and venues are the places in it for the money. a sellout is a band that started out playing for FUN, and changed their style/sound to make MONEY. a band that never changed but made money always sticking with what THEY want to play, is a real band that is still in it for the music. us underground music fans could go on all day about this stuff. I know that id love my band(s) to make some money playing hardcore, but out music isnt very popular to the general public. FOB used to be really big in the underground hc scene, but they softened up to appeal to the masses, and basically SOLD OUT. i was never a fan of them though, so i dont care really. but ive lost a lot of respect from a lot of my fav bands that changed their direction completely to comply with the label and the demands of the public market. its unfortunate, but its human nature to do whatever it takes to succeed, so who can blame em?

I can name 1 great band that has never sold out.......NOFX.....They have what? 1 or 2 radio hits? They started playin in 84 and I believe their first album pressed was like in 87 or 89 and they are one of the biggest punk bands to date EVER......Still in the underground and still making records and Fat Mike even has his own record label and they have thier own clothing line and still they are not sold out......I just think that some band like to stay true to where they belong and other bands like 16 year old girls and the puppydog eyed boys that follow the little teenie bopper girls around........It's all in what you like....Music is Music....and how wonderful it is to be able to choose what you like and dislike

On a side note

All American Rejects are pretty tight for what they play and how they got their brake

Whos to say any band "softened" up to get on the radio ?

So what if they changed their style . . . People change - Interests change - that doesnt mean they did that to "get on the radio"

So NOFX is the only band in history to not sell out because theyve only been on the radio a couple times ?

Everyone has the right to their opionon - I just dont see why if a band get softer or harder they should be labeled as sell outs ?

There are SO many generes of music on the radio - that the Idea of "going lighter" to get on the radio isnt really valid . . .

some people act like theres a big Director that makes every band soften up to get on the radio -

Its when the band stops doing it for the fans and is only motivated by money...that is a sellout.

To answer 2 things

1. I didnt mean that NOFX is the only band in the world that hasnt sold out I was just giving an example

2. I dont think it is really about becoming soft more than it is almost completely changing your genre of music from Say Hardcore to soft Bublegum PoP Teen Bop music that becomes played on the radio every day but the thing is the true style of music that the band originaly played is now lost and all of there previous fans as well as everything that the band grew up knowing and basing there music on is now lost in the wind while the Taste of the A&R and MTV (by the way is one of the reason's certain bands become popular and certain bands dont) are now thriving on the radio waves.
 run on paragraph. Sorry!

Now through suttle metaphysics (being that of MTV, Radio play, bilboard Advertisements, Magazine ads) the group of *MASS* will slowly start to flock to whatever is being concentrated upon.

A&R's find bands that will appeal to a large group of people and groom them to what they want to sell...

That now is how a band becomes a sellout as well as how bands become popular with such *softened music/changed genre*

I had to do a report in college in my human studies class on Metaphysical influence on the human brain.....this was part of my report......along with how bandwagon trends are started and finished

at the FOB concert could tell they are in it for the fans & fun. The money is a bonus. Between each song they would talk & what not like every other band. Occasionaly they would notice something in the crowd & be like are you ok, is she hurt, or whatever. Not to mention they even upfront said they aren't in it for the money. They even asked the people on the floor would move back a lil for the fans on the rail cause it looked like they were getting crushed.

most bands do that. They dont want the kids to get hurt...i was at the House of Blues and saw Less Than Jake, and some dude jumped off the second floor into the mosh pit...it was crazy, he crushed a few people then got arrested. let alone at a FOB show its a bunch of little gurls anyways...if you cant take getting swung at/moshing then u should be in the pit...

Sounds liek 10 years.
I saw 10 Years, Mudvane, and Korn in concert 2 week ago.
10 Years was who I went for and it seemed like they were the only ones in it for the fun. Mudvane and Korn, in for the money. Hell the only Johnathan Davis said to the crowd was "Thank You Albuquerque"
Both other bands at least talked to the crowd.

I now hate Korn. Mudvane's not far behind, butI never really liked them to begine with.

And as for 10 Years. Look below
Justin- I have nothing but smart ass remarks to add.

Not to mention FOB was talking to the crowd about buying their fellow tour mates records. Also there was a no name band there with them by the name of "the Hush Sound." The pushed for the fans to buy stuff from them the most & what not
