Thanks Chris, I've moved it to Off-Topic for now in hopes that the conversation stays civil.

Advertisement? How so? I'm just giving a different perspective. I'm really just trying to get all the facts. Good and bad. Not all this here-say bs.

he doesnt drive a neon mike, hes a COBALT guy! dun dun dun

btw brr, I dont see how this thread is in need of a lock, there nothing bad going on. calmb4 is my buddy, hes lookin into these sponsorships and I told him that theyre BS, and that there were threads on my forum (this one) to prove it. I think this can be discussed a bit further before going as far as to locking a thread that hasnt broken any rules.

Thanks orange. And yes I do own a Cobalt SS Supercharged. beleive it or not there at least 5 or so SRT4s and a couple Neons on cobaltss.net. I'm here because you guys have a little experiance with this sponsorship stuff.

Through further research this is a bust. grrrr..... Oh well.... Any suggestions on a real sponsorship? Stupid question, I know. But all this researching saved me 90 bucks. Thanks

Real Sponsorships..... spend your own money, make your car full show or performance or both then start writing to companies with pictures of your car, mods, and the shows that you typically attend each year to show how much your exposure your car gets to the public.

shows are the #1 way to get a deal from what i understand. Just build the car up nice and put the time in. show it a lot, and races are also a good way to get noticed, but only if u plan on building a race car and want those kind of parts sponsors.

Prove you can build your car with your money.

Thats all a "duh" given. But thats dumb. Why build up your car then get sponcered? What's the point?

N E way.... I talked to one of the Member Advisers of Team SCP (wich is not Sport Compact Pro any more, its now Sport Compact Performance, under new ownership) and she was telling me that basicly, at the semi-pro level (me, if I sign up) I get free tickets to all nopi events and discounts through there venders not through the manufacturars. The requirment is to show/race your car. It sounds good but I'm still skeptical.

She was also telling me that the "Gold Digger" Toyota Supera is one of their full sponsored cars. He's on the cover of "Audio Performance and Sound." And that they are one Speed Chanel's "Nopi Vission."

Not advertising but sharing what info I find.

BRR - kill this thread bro. This is poo.

*My skateshop didn't make me pay to ride for them back in the day. You networked your talents (car) through contests and events. Not a piece of vinyl and a list of manufacturers.

*If you are paying for sponsorship then the meaning of the word sponsorship has been lost. Sponsorship means FREE. Go to some shows and enter, get out there on the scene and make yourself known in the circuit. Party, make friends, shake hands. Don't pay.

*If Krackstar had posted this, I might have believed it. That dude is out there workin' it the right way. He'll be gettin the freebies soon.

Speak for your self buddy, i know tons about sponserships and that pay 90 bucks and we will sponser you is a full crap they do give you a discount but its more like a group buy they get 30 to 40 kids hyped up that they are getting a sponcer ship and they set yall up on a group buy. thats it the company get 90 for setting up a freaking group buy and the companies that have the products are getting there stuff sold and free advertisement cause they are saying put this sticker on my car. you want a sponsership send pics and a write up (a business perposal) of your car to companies. thats how the rest of the world do it.

Grrrr........... I love people with closed minds. NOT!! Does anybody here really know what there talking about. All I'm reading is the same bs with no facts. Prove your point with the facts!! It's like saying "all black people are all ghetto and dumb" and you've never ever once met a black person. Prove your point with facts not here-say and opinions.

***the quote is just an example, bad one maybe, best one I can think of. NOT A PESONAL OPINION. I have many black friends. Thank you

Look on AEM website - they even have a link for sponsorships - guess what? You need to really work at it, and it involves you putting in time and money and effort to get sponsored - but once you do, woohoo!

Anyways, I ain't talking out my booty, I am just stating what I know personally. And personally, I aint going to try and get sponsored.

Alright, well... We've established that paying people to sponsor you is usually going to get you in trouble. We've had a couple people that have passed through (some might still be members here) that tried the paid sponsorships (through carsponsponsorships.com or similar services) and they've shared their stories with how it was a mistake.

Some of the 'true show car' owners here have shared their stories with how they were able to obtain sponsorships through companies, etc.

This thread is going nowhere but in loops. I hope you were able to find your answer in this thread - In a nutshell, you need to put your own money into your car before an aftermarket parts company will be willing to help you out. All you need to do is get enough mods for them to WANT to put their name on your car, fill out letters, attach photos, and send them away.

Good luck!

Lock time.
