new tornado damage pics 15 minutes after the storm! (no 56k)

Post by Paralyzer » Wed Apr 12, 2006 9:31 am

These are a few more pictures after the storm. These was taken by my mom within 15 mnutes after it struck us. Reminding you that when you see the gas station I was only about 450 yards from it and I was missed. I was so lucky. The only thing that I can say is always be proud of what you have because these people can't say that now. They have nothing left and nothing that they can call home any more. There was a total of 174 destroyed homes from this tornado and 65 damaged homes. the death count hasn't been fully released yet and there is still a few people completely missing that have not been found yet. This is the worst storm I have ever been in and I personally never want to see another either. My prayers go out to each of the victims. Here are some of the pictures I have scanned in. I had 3 rolls total but I got tired of scanning then in. I would have got them on CD but wal-mart was out of them so I had to do it myself.

You can see where the gas station exploded with all the burn marks on the bulding and cars. Also you can look inside and see the charcol black ash.

You can see the foundation of a house in this picture...but no one knows where the house is to this day.
Image
You can see the steel beam sticking out of this home. It came from across the road from Lee's Electric and the beam missed a lady by about 6 inches.

This was from my friend's backyard.

My heart sank when I saw the E-Blue neon destroyed in the middle of this picture. First thought that I had was of Jdusty on here and I to this day can't get in touch with him. He is a student at Vol State across the road and it looks just like his car. So Dusty if you are ok please send me a PM! I hope everything is ok with you and that it isn't your car in these next 2 pictures.

This is Vol State Community College where Dusty attends: That is why I am hoping he wasn't there when it hit.

Hydrants are pretty tough... Especially if something were to fall down against it like that... Still weird that it didn't bend any.
