Exactly! That's not a cheap shot, either. I'll take my Linux any day.

Well, I use OSX 10.4, but our operating systems are from the same mold: Unix.

Oh fucking fancy that!!!
Corey's car needs new control arms. Thanks Dodge, for making my car out of balsa wood!!!!!

Why does it need new control arms?

Simple answer, its a POS.
I'm telling you man, they refuse to fix the entire problem with is my front suspension is so damn bad, all of it is bad. So they go around fixing problems here and there, bushings, tie rods, sway links, control arms, and they say maybe the whole shock assembly. If they had a lemon law for a car that was over a year old, I'd have a new car by now. This is the 4th time its getting "fixed".
Oh and get this!!!! They tried to blame one of the noises on the CAI......I was about to FLIP!!!

Okay so what is the car doing that they need to do all of this work to the suspension? Is it squeeking or something dumb like that, pulling to one side.. wha?

The suspension squeaks when I hit (any size) bump, and makes a crunching noise when I go over speed bumps, or up a curb(for a driveway). The squeaks are just squeaks....but the crunching noise is like ruber on metal or metal on metal rubbing. I don't really know how to explain it, I could try and get a sound clip next time I'm in my car. Just recently when I make a turn and have my breaks on(going into the turn) it makes a groaning noise. When I get out of the turn(giving it gas) the noise is not there and no its not PS. Its sort of like a groaing crunching noise with some rubbing involved.

Got it?

Does the groaing crunching noise with some rubbing involved get louder the faster you go so it follows the speed of the car?

No its not that, thats what was wrong with my dad's car.
It only happens durring bumps and turns. My guess is busted tie rods and bushings, but they already replaced the tie rods twice and the bushings once...
I'm also thinking its the busings around my spring. ?

Could be... did they check the ball joint? How many miles on the car?
Posted: Wed Apr 26, 2006 1:21 pm

~40,000.
I'm sure they checked the ball joint, but they have never said anything about that or attempted to fix it.

When they replace the control arms the ball joint will come with it along with the bushings for the control arm. There really isn't any other pivot point that I'm sure they didn't look at already. The top hat area isn't much of a pivot point other than an area where the bearing is for when you turn your wheels side to side. It also has a bushing in it thats to absorb inpact of going over bumps instead of the force being transfered into the body of the car. I wonder if they bothered checking the squeeks at the sway bar bushings to lube them up b/c that could cause the squeeks when going over bumps.

Oh, mk.
Well I have no other ideas. I need to drop it off in a few days when they get the parts in. I'll be updating it. And did I say that my surface rust is not coverd under the warranty? Now I did....

I'm too lazy to look back... did you say where the surface rust was?

Inside the trunk lip where it was rolled right by the rear window.

Oh... where water typically sits. Isn't there a weld right there also? If you can prove you brought it in for that before your warranty was up I'd call the Regional rep and complain to him

RopeRat1 might know more since he's been around the dealer scene for awhile and knows it's interworkings... might be able to give some pointers

Well they tried to scare me and say that nothing is under the warranty, but the control arms are under warranty. As they should be because I brought this problem up longggg before it was up.

Dropped the car off at 8:30 am, did not get it back till 5:30pm.
Looks like my bushing EXPLODED! Both control arms and bushings were replaced.
BTW, one shit-tastic problem after another, my cd player is FUBAR and Dodge wont replace it, even though its one they put in after my FIRST one crapped out.

Got it?

You probably shouldn't have bought the cheapest vehicle that Dodge makes, then.

Oh, so just because it is cheap that means Dodge can make it with crappy parts.?. I hope your car starts to fall apart on you, this way you know the headache I'm going through.

Lets add this to the list.

Thats what my radio now says for the radio station and the time.
First one is "AM FM ST"
Second one says "Track 74".

Hmmm.... so it was the ball joints then?
About the radio... they're known for crapping out so I'd probably just go to the salvage yard and pull one or grab one off ebay for cheap.

or buy a cheap aftermarket

I know, but its just BS cause they replaced my other one and now the one they replaced shited out.

Seriously... if there are this many problems I'd really start looking at the lemon law in your state to see what it covers and if your car falls under it.

I did a long time ago. IIFC its the same problem repaired unsucsesfull five times (in a row) in the first year of the car (being new).
Correction its 4 times in one year or 12,000 miles. So if this happend sooner my car would be a lemon....NICE!
