My First Patent

Post by racer12306 » Thu Jun 01, 2006 6:05 pm

well kind of. im working on it. its a thingamabob to make another thingamabob a lot easier. hope you like my intense details but i cant really disclose stuff about it. i just think its cool that its my second week as an intern at black and decker and im close to having a patentable item, i actually started working on it last week (my first week there).

just figured id share a little bit. one thing is for sure, atleast i dont have to cover the costs of it.

Oh yeah... I've thought of that idea also... it's where the whatchamacallit interacts with the doohickey.

Congrats on the pantent for whatever you're designing :-? haha

Meh, if you disclose details here, it'll be evidence of "prior art"...you can't patent prior art.

Congratulations on your development work! I'm glad that you don't have to pay for it...

Also, I hope you get an attorney if it seems arduous to file pro se. If not, the government has an attorney search on the USPTO website.

black and decker takes care of all that. i personally dont own the patent, black and decker does. i just get recognition for it. its in an agreement that every employee signs when they start working there.

my supervisor has about 7 or 8 patents, just in the last 6 years.

I hope you come out with the invention soon...it'll be sweet once you're recognized on the patent. Hopefully, if all goes well, you'll be on your way to beating your supervisor's record :)

there is so much stuff i wish i could talk about but i cant. it was another agreement i had to sign when i started.

it would be really cool to have a patent. i get a little bonus from black and decker, not sure how much, but just for the fact that i created something new is a cool thing.
