TEIN springs for neon

Post by nofrills05 » Thu Sep 21, 2006 1:55 pm

This board seems to get more traffic so here goes.

Does anybody know if I will need to adjust my camber with the TEIN springs. They advertise a drop of 2 inches...not sure if this will throw my camber off or not.

Yep, it will. I would just buy a camber adjustment bolt kit. They work fine, just make sure the person doing your alignment doesn't set the front camber to 0 degrees. The fronts need about 1 degree negative.

Check to see if they're slotted or not. I was gonna buy a camber bolt kit when I got my IPP's only to find out they're slotted. So I didn't need a kit and saved my $$.

But yeah, the drop will affect the camber.

I was assuming stock struts, so yes, definately check whatever struts you're using to see if they are slotted. Also, depending on how well you know the place/technician that does your alignment, you might mention to them to be careful to not torque the camber bolts OR the stock bolts too tightly. A couple of mine broke because the shop torqued them way too much, and didn't lube them.

Thanks for the info. Where can I get a camber bolt kit?

BTW I will be using the stock struts for now.

I always recommend them, for two reasons: One, they have great service. Two, you can always find a couple other things that you want and throw them in with your order. :) I don't think I've ever called to order and ended up just getting what I needed in the first place. Whether or not that is a good thing is up to you I suppose. 8)
