1st gen r/t or srt springs?

Post by bigbird » Fri Oct 27, 2006 4:09 pm

I currently have srt springs on stock sxt struts. I have been reading about people putting 1st gen r/t or acr springs on. They can be picked up pretty cheap now. Which do you think will be better? Keep in mind I NEED to keep my stock struts, as I cannot afford to buy any new ones.

This is my question too. The srt's are stiffer but don't drop your car as much. Supposedly you won't blow your struts with the srts. I imagine that you would be more likely to blow your struts with the 1st gen springs because they drop your car about 1.5". how does your car handle with the srt springs? My friends acr handles beutifully with those but he has the acr struts.

srt spring wont do anything, 1st gen r/t/acr springs will lower the car on stock struts and i have heard some people running them without a problem.

my srt springs did drop the rear about .5-.75 inches! Handles much better with them on though! I was curious if the handling advantage because of the drop with the first gens would be negated by being softer?

If i were you, i would just stick with the srt springs. I have the 1st gen acr's and theyre great... But i would be very affraid of blowing my struts, but my car is still under warranty.LOL

I havent had any problems, but my car only has 8000 miles...

I'll probably keep the srt springs for now. When it comes time to get new struts, I might change springs then. Thanks fellas!
