My rotor isn't coming off..? I noticed that I should not need to remove the axle nut from searching here, but it looks like I need to... How do I get the damn thing off?
04 base btw...
Thanks,
John

You don't need to take the axle nut off. The rotor should just come off after you take off the caliper. With a little maneuvering off the studs, it should come right off. Spray it down with a little bit of brake cleaner also once your done.

^+1, I agree with 60 trim. Last Sept. I painted my calipers and took them off to do that. Once they were off the rotor came right off. Just locate the 2 bolts holding the calipers on and remove them. Make sure you have something to hold the calipers up or tie them to the springs for support, so not to harm the brake lines.

If it's the first brake job you'll need to remove the retaining clip on one of the studs. After that you'll want to use a hammer.

If you are replacing with new rotors, then after getting the spring clips are off the studs whack it with a hammer on the rotor surface and remove the darn thing. But If you are reusing them then carefully whack the hat area between the studs.
Should come off fairly easily after that.
Once off make sure to clean the rotor hat(if re-using) and the hub as best you can. If you are not just clean the hub after you get them off. If you do re-use them mark them before coming off to allow you to put them back on the hub the same way to help reduce run-out.
