ok i know i keep changing what the hell im doin to my car but......ive now decided i wanna go rally style... i saw a rally neon that did very well and it was all stock motor just suspension upgrades.....so my question is...wats a nice set up for heavy off road use.... im thinkin it will have to be higher then stock ride height and adjustable recoil...keep in mind i plan to take jumps in this car...... im already doin the roll cage to strengthen the car..

skid plate!!!!
probably would want coilovers so that you get good spring action while being able to adjust the height for the courses. Definately sway bars, and tower strut bars....oh! and Goood Brakes... SRT swap at least the rear... those are my suggestions, but I'm not all that knowledgable of Rally setup... I think Rally I think Suspension... JMHO

I'm really interested in this! But I don't think a FWD car will be a good platform for a rally car, unless you manage to find a way to stick a 4WD drivetrain in there, like from a DSM or something.

Aren't the Citroen and Renaults FWD??? I know that there are good FWD platforms out there...though not having TV for the past year I can't remember which.

True, most are 4WD though. Personally, I wouldn't even try 4WD on the Neon, unless you really want to and have the know how and money to do it.

actually i thought the same thing.... neon cant be a good rally car....then i ran into the site
www.rallynotes.com he runs a 1st gen and he does very well actually... all stock motor sept a limited slip diff... lots of suspension mods tho.... i just finnished my cage its a 6 point ...to give some stiffness and strength.... i just cant seem to find a offroad suspension set up for a neon ... thnx for all the feedback so far ....keep it coming oh and as far as my brakes go i have the sport package so i was told i have the same brakes as an srt4 sept the srt4 rear disc is a bit thicker...so i dont see much gain there... i was thinkin maybe get some slotted and/or drilled rotors.... bein as these brakes heat up quick and then proceed to not stop the car at all

sport setup? I dunno what that means, but I assume it means you have front and rear disc with abs and traction control... right? (yeah trac is not suspension, but it is apart of "sport" package, although BRR could confirm).

correctamundo sir .. i dunno wat the sport package is or if its actually called that but yes... traction control, abs and rear disc brakes...also fog lights...o and a lil spoiler..... that same rally guy says that the srt4 stock springs on kyb struts works pretty good for rally...and i have the kyb's already on lowering springs..... does anyone know if the srt4 springs will fit my kyb's?... 01 neon
