Yes. If you look in my tegline, those are not stock. They're 16" wheels with 205/55 series tires

still not sure what you mean by tegline or tagline.
but you were using the wrong height tire when you were using 205/55/16. those are too tall. so it fills the wheel well better than stock.
if you were to compare a stock height tire with the 205/40/17 it should be the same distance.

May I ask why you consider 205/55 16 "too tall"? I am not sure what you mean by that.
My tagline image here... you don't see it? The wheel is visible in it.

205/55/16 is too tall because it is an inch taller than stock.
im not saying that it wont fit, im just saying that it is taller than stock.
tagline = signature, got it now

The radius on 185/60 15 is 11.9".
The radius on 205/55 16 is 12.4".
That's 1" diameter difference, yes. And yes, that fills the wheel well in more by 1/2 inch all around. But is it too big?
Visually, IMO it looks better because there's more wheel inside the same sidewall height. Both cominations have a 4.4" tall sidewall.
This is 4.8% slower than stock, so when the speedo reads 60 mph, I am actually going 62.9 mph (~3 mph).
So yes, I see what you mean by "too tall", and I will have to keep that in mind when reading my speedo.
Figured I'd mention that 205/50 16 is 1.4% too slow (~1 mph faster than speedo reading of 60 mph), and 205/45 16 is 2% TOO FAST (~1 mph slower than speedo reading of 60 mph).
Also, 205/40 17 is 1.2% too fast, 60 mph is actually really 59.3 (interesting). 50 series on the same 17 inch wheel is 5.6% too slow, and at 60 mph speedo reading, you're actually going 63.4 (also very interesting).

Ok after 4 pages of this I had to do it.......
ok no back on topic......
2GN struts, 1GN springs, 1.5inch drop w/ 205/40/17's.......
and now I'll move this to the suspension topic since its more apropriate there
