sway bars with air ride???

Post by kornholio788 » Fri May 04, 2007 11:19 pm

So i am pickin up my air ride on sunday and i am VERY excited. I am installing it next weekend. My question is there is word that at good driving psi there is no performance handling to be found. AKA i wont be able to take turns as fast. Which is no big deal but i currently have a stock swaybar and it is nice. i think the air struts dont have the brackets. I am afraid that since i am used to a sway bar this will be crazy feeling to me and i will DEF. need something back there. Plus it will help me three wheel lol. SOO what are my options. The air struts dont have the brackets i think but i will know for sure on sunday.

What can i do. Get some brackets welded on, are there aftermarket things i can buy????

Any help would be appriciated

Thanks

Defentally no brackets.

I was going to hack the brakets off of stock struts and get them welded, but, well, you know.

Vitor over on neons.org sells brackets for like $50 or so. Or, just go to a local suspension shop and get something welded.

Also, air ride is 100% off... pictures are taken... just gotta sort through all the wires and label 'em for ya. IT'll be a huge mess without it.

or maybe it was the for sale section. but its there.

dont know if they will help you, but its worth a look.

A word of caution though, if you put sways on a lowered vehicle without shorter endlinks it will bind the bushings. So i would imagine that with air ride you might not get the complete range of articulation from the supsension.

i dont know the name of the valve .. but there is one that keeps the air independent for each bag (if it isn't already) ... and in that case you shouldn't have bad performance with enough air pressure ...

oh i can indepently set each bag to a different psi. And I am guessing i will have good handleing at higher psi. But i have been told that once you get to those higher psi then the ride goes to all hell. You are just bouncing all over the rode. But who knows maby there is a majic number in there somewhere lol i will know in week HHHELLLSSS YYYYAAA
