One of the things I want to do it change the rear drum brakes. Well we figured out how to get the drum off and then we looked at and were like WTF how do take it apart. So we stop cause we didn't want to F them up.

But at the top where the actuater is the thing that pushes the shoes out to the drums. I touched the rubber around it and fuild started coming out. so I stop touching it right away and it looked to seal back up ok. But i just want to make sure I didn't F up the brakes. Is it going to be ok?

thats the wheel cylinder. better get them replaced. best to do them in pairs. you can get some from NAPA and i believe they come with lifetime warranties.
biggest thing on replacing them is not to strip out the fitting (line) where it goes into the back of the cylinder. a quality flair wrench is a must.

Fluid coming out of the wheels cylinders is NOT a good thing. They need to be replaced. Taking the drum assembly apart isnt as hard as it looks, but a couple specific tools make the job much easier.

Yeah just finished doing them a few hours ago. If I ever have to look at doing that again I just going to buy parts to switch over to disks.

I'm doing a write up how we did them. But you know in the 40 plus years drum brakes been around you think they'd have come up with easier way of doing them.

But I love my brake spoon!
