Changing the springs and struts

Post by Arro » Sat Jun 16, 2007 5:05 pm

I want to use the SRT springs and struts I have until I can afford to buy the BC coilovers... What is the easiest way to do this? My guess is to jack up the car, put it on stands, remove wheel, jack up under the control arm, unbolt the top, and then slowly unjack to uncompress... if the spring pops loose, I figured the strut would hold it from flying at me.

Puttong on the SRT stuff, the reverse order of above.

Do I have the right idea with this?
Drive it like you stole it, and work on it like you married it.

1. loosen lugnuts
2. jack up car and put stands under cross member
3. take off wheels
4. disconnect grounds(front) maybe somethng on the back too i kinda forget
5. put jack under lower control arm and take pressure off of strut
6. unbold 3 top bolts and 2 lower bolts.
7. take out.

im pretty sure thats it. its a pretty easy job. u dont have to take the struts apart right? if so ull need a spring compressor

do one at a time to u can look at others for reference make sure everything lines up on the strut!! its possitioned a certain way
