i believe the minimum thickness was .81" for rotors, but thats minimum.. i dont know what new rotors start out as... and is that .81 for each side of the rotor? i dont know..

i was planning on replacing my rotors when i do my axle, but if i dont need to then ill save the money... ill do the pads though i guess... they probably need it

i have mediocre braking ability.... might be a whole combination of things from my bad axle, bald ass tires, old pads, rotors... braking works but sometimes its a feeling like "oh shit car please stop right now"... and i practically have to floor the brake pedal to come to a stop. so i was gonna do the rotors for the hell of it... do i need to?

Your brakes don't look that bad from the pics, maybe a little glazed.

Because they may be glazed. To 'unglaze' them you just have to scuff them with some sandpaper. But its kinda hard to say 'yes, your brakes are good' or 'no, your brakes are bad' over then internet.

Both sides of the rotor should be worn to a very similar thickness.

You need to measure them with a micrometer at the thinnest spot and several places over the surface of the rotor going around.

Then then should be within about 0.002" (spec is actually 1/2 of 0.001" or 0.0005" of runout or thickness variation).

Front Rotors should be 0.861"-0.871" new and min spec is 0.806"
Rear Rotors (if you should have them) should 0.344"-0.364" new and min spec is 0.285"

If you do scuff them with sand paper wash them and used some kind of abrasive disc for the pads if you do them as well. Should not use sandpaper on pads as you can embed sand in the brake pad material leading to abrasive problems between the brake pad and rotor. Not so nice.

Rotors are so cheap these days, just throw new ones on.
