coilover sleeves?

Post by silversport » Wed Aug 29, 2007 11:00 am

hey im looking to slam my car without spending alot of money! airbags and regular coilovers are way too expensive so i was looking at getting coilover sleeves. there seems to be so many companies making these things and i was just wondering which kind i should get for maximum drop.
p.s. not too concerned about the struts or the ride that much.
ive heard of companies getting 3" or even 4" drop. i probably wouldnt go that much but it would be good to have the option. lol

what do u guys think?
im on 1gn acr spings right now and love how low the back is but i want the front the same aswell! no wheel gap!

your front end will sit on the ground if you go much lower in the front, or you wont be abel to turn your wheel.

I guess if you care less about your struts, get the coil over sleeves... but you know, personally, I like the look of the 1gn acr/rt springs. I went with 1gn rt springs up front and srt4 springs in the rear - it gives it a really nice low front with a similar wheel well gap in the rear, but looks more like the old muscle car stance (which is the ear I am from )

ya. i dont hate how it looks now but id like maybe .25-.5" more in the front for when i go to shows. the gap looks alot more obvious in person and in the day. it bugs me lol
anyone know a good brand that will drop me to the ground? or almost
im thinking about getting srt struts 2 and bigger tires so i can fill the gap more without going so low

1gn base springs will lower the front a little bit more. or if you want it really low, buy a set of 1gn lowering springs, if you dont care about blowing struts, and riding on bump-stops.

the main reason i wanna get the coilover sleeves is so i can make it low for shows and then raise it back up after. i scrap as it is with the 1gn springs. i also wanna be able to mess around with the stance and find something i like. but thx for the advice!

Naw, the base model 1gn springs will lower the hell out of your car as well... your running 16's, right? His overall height is only 24.26"... depending on your aspect, width and rim size, you too could be close to 24" overall. I am sure you will get the wheel well gap fill you are looking for.

Holy snap.... Thats on regular 1gn springs... that look f'ing good... Might need to take off my 1gn acr's and put those on... I have on srt struts with them so they kinda bump the ride up a lil (which I hate)...

u cant run more then a 45series on stock struts, if u get srt struts u can run a 50 series...

2 most COMMON size for us for tires are either

205/45

or

215/40

u MIGHT be able to get away with 215/45 depending on offset and stuff of ur wheels..
hmmmmm

then you should be at about 23.77", which is under 1/2 inch of height difference, I think yours will look great :D

If I were to buy generic lowering springs will that do the same as the 1gn base model springs. All those 1gn freaks want too much for stock springs. One guy told me $175, four USED stock springs that is FUBAR.

you could probably get some generic and get a 2inch drop, but not sure of the ride, or spring rate...
here...

http://forums.neons.org/viewtopic.php?t ... ht=springs

55 shipped for a set of stock 1gn springs.... BAM....

i'd like to use the 1st gen springs, but not sure if my tire will fit..
