Rear disc conversion help!!!!!!!!!!

Post by Adionik » Thu Sep 27, 2007 7:25 pm

As you all might know, I bought a rear disc conversion "Kit" off of that jackass Ghost Neon from the other org that sold me a busted caliper without telling me. He also didn't tell me which year the brakes came off of.

Now, are all the 2gn REAR CALIPERS the same? Cuz I have 1 that works so I just need another 1. What year should I get? I have an 02, and they are telling me the 02 REAR CALIPER is only 31.99, should I get that one?

BTW any tips or help for installing the calipers? I've only seen the SRT swap and am i wrong in assuming that the r/t is easier?

Thanks guys I need help asap I want to swap them already

Hmm, thats strange. Ghost Neon seemed like a good guy when I met him, he most likely pulled it from a j-yard and didn't know it was busted. All 2gn rear calipers are the same, so the ones for $31.99 will be fine.

I've never done a disk conversion, so good luck man!

Thanks. Any links or tips would be helpful. I've searched my ass off but mainly come out with posts just for the SRT swap.

Thanks again

I'm collecting parts to do a srt4 rear disc brake conversion, if you do the brake conversion take pics and write a how to, would help myself and many people in the future.

srt rear discs and r/t rear disc are the same thing.... and almost identical to the 1gn rear discs which will also work for the swap

Yeah i'll take pics, although there is already a how-to on this forum.

I will be the guinea pig for my own brakes before putting my girlfriend in the car.

How much modification is required to use 1gn rear disc parts?

Why does autozone have the R/T calipers listed differently than normal calipers? I'm going to go buy mine today and I would like to know the difference....

Application:
R/T model
Note:
Driver side

Application:
Except R/T model
With 7/16 - 20 inlet hole
Note:
Driver side
Part number may be reversed for some applications

I don't know which one to get ahh!!!

BTW the rotors are 19.99 at oreilys, and the calipers are 31.99 at autozone....CHEAP FTW! i was going to get ebays but meh...not for me

ABS sensor or maybe it has to do with the traction control.... i don't see why either one wouldn't work
