Go ahead and do it.

I see you have an 00, I personally would go all out and get struts so then you don't have to do the job again. Not a very fun job.

It wasn't that bad, just be sure to NOT mix up the rear top plates, as unlike the front, they are NOT swappable. I think they are marked LEFT and RIGHT but we weren't paying attention... we made that mistake and we had to take them both apart and swap them again grrr...

Most people use goldlines or eibach springs which have REALLY agressive rates, and blow out stock struts. What I went with isn't as agressive.

the job isn't that hard. Doing it again is even easier, since you probably won't need a spring compressor for the lowering springs. First time it'll take you 6 hours or so. Second time, you'll probably be done in less than 2. By now I could do it in around an hour.

save the stock struts...
When I did the !GN spring drop I used them on a set of used 2GN struts...this way if something happened I could always put the complete strut setup back into the car without headaches...
Personally....
Used 1GN springs on 2GN struts all used...lasted me less than 1 month...I was in carlisle bouncing off my bump stops the whole time I was there and will NEVER do it again, 2 weeks later I just slapped my stock suspension back into the car and i'm all set...
As someone mentioned, If your going to do it do it right the first time!

For price, SRT-4 stock struts, for best performance, go with a set of BC coilovers and get everything you could ever want in a setup, including camber control. For the cost of all four aftermarket struts, the BC non-inverteds can be had under the Megan Racing brand label for only a little more.

But then you have to use smaller wheel/tire. 40 series 17's, no thanks. I know some of you do that but I think it's not as good performance-wise.
