I also have 1st gen rear discs on my car. You can use the 1st gen E-brake cables, but youll have to swap the 2nd gen brackets onto them. Theyre the brackets that bolt on where the drag links are. Youll know what Im talking about when you see them. Theyre easy to swap.

1st gen banjo bolts into 1st gen calipers. I had no problems.
Only ever had problems using 1st gen bolts on 2nd gen calipers, and vica versa.

ehhh... I didn't use 1gn rear setup on mines... I used a 2gn's... Its pretty much the same with all years... Only think that changed is the rotor thickness I believe...
So Just get the 1gn setup and chahge the rotors and pads and you'll have the 2gn setup...
I took the complete rear spindles off the back but you don't need the spindles... all you need is the calipers , the back plate, and everything that connects to it... There are 4 bolts you take off after the wheel bearing... You'll know them when you see them.. Take those off and bolt do the same to your drum set and you're good to go..

Rotor thickness for the rears is the same. The only change was the E-brake cable brackets, and 1st gens and 2nd gens use different banjo bolts.

Its ok... But yea.. if I were you guys that are looking to swap those lazy ass drums... Just get the back plate and ebrake from the 1gn and buy the rotors, pads, calipers, and the lil pieces from either the dealer or autozone...
