What are these strut tower braces I hear about?

LOL, I posted a link so you an give em' a look. Just wonder if stock anti-sway bars + upper strut bars will help handling or should I just get better anti-sway bars for now and do the upper strut bars at a later date.

Well, I just checked and I don't have a rear anti-sway bar.
What I thought was the anti-sway was somekind of link from the rear suppension to the body, in a RWD car I'd call it a 4-link but not sure what it's called here. Anyway, guess I need to get a good set of anti-sways, struts, lowing springs and upper strut tower rods and do it all at once when I can afford it. That along with a good set of 205/50/15's should make it handle like it's on rails.

trailing links are the 2 arms on each side in the rear, running from rear crossmember, to wheel hub. There is also a tension strut rod, for each rear wheel, attached to the bottom of the wheel hub, running forward to the bottom of the vehicle.
P.s - your plan sounds good my friend, but i would add polyurethane suspension bushings in there too... either prothane or energy master kit... you will really like the difference they make.

Yep, I want a set of those too. Hopefully most of the replacement parts will come with poly bushing instead of rubber but I'll probably just get a set to be sure and replace all that I can get to when I do the suppension work.

They lower the car enough to look good without getting too crazy. I'm going to pair em' with some of the KYB GR2 struts when I get the cash.

Figure I would do an update, but I had a rematch with a safer, yet equally potentially-strut-altering turn, and KICKED ITS ASS!
So new tires...ftw. I can't break the rear loose anymore. Damn thing is a tank.

The Pro Kit is a good choice if you want a decent drop and improved handling. Quite a bit stiffer than stock. Though I dont have any experience with the KYB's, I would suggest the Tokico HP's instead, since they have better ratings among Neon owners, including myself. And the price MPX sells them for is just plain unbeatable.

I wanted to get them but that stopped me.
Ummm, that may truly suck for me then considering I just received my Tokiko Blues from Modern today
and my Hotchkiss sways arrive on Tuesday. I'm planning on dropping the car with the Kazera springs I have waiting, then putting on my summer Rotas that DO have 205/50/15's
. Care to explain more Adionik?

I believe he is on 17's...205/50/15 is smaller than stock, you should be okay.

Wow 205/50/15? I didn't know that tire size was even available LOL
You will be fine...if you decided to run thicker, wider tires on those struts you might need a 5mm spacer or so!

. But umm yeah I have Rota Subzero's with Kumho Ecsta Supras sized 205/50/15 (honestly I went from SRT4 rims running 205/40/17 to these). I know there's a 225/45/15 size available, but those are mainly road racing tires like Toyo RA-1's. Mine sit about 1" lower than the stock 185/65/15 on factory snowflakes so: smaller size + less weight =

Did the cost for the sways on Titanmotorsports go up? They appear to be 327 now vice the 270 everyone was talking about? Am I looking at the wrong thing?

They must have ended the 11+ month "sale", too bad, I wanted a cheap set.
I have Khumo SPT 205-50s on my stock SXT rims and they made a huge difference in handling. I'd suggest the same for anyone that wants to keep their stock rims, they're great in the dry and capable in the wet.
I'm on Mopar springs and srt struts though so the springs perch is definately higher, by about 1". The aftermarket dropzones I previously used had a rear sway mount and better dampening than stock but had a 1/2" lower than stock Perch height.
It really depends on your tastes, but poly bushings, Hotchkiss sways, good tires and Mopar springs would be the ideal DD setup...

Yup. I have a 05 sxt with tokico blues and eibach pros and was going to get these sways to compliment the drop, i'm still consiering it even though they are 50 bucks more.

so after reading this thread the way i understand it is if i buy tokico struts and these sway bars i'll have everything i need to install them on my neon even though i don't have sway bars right now
