Damn, what brakes cost 1K? Unless your thinking the el-cheapo coilovers on eBay are what you want...?

On the brakes, just get some Hawk HPs or EBC Green stuff pads and call it good. That's about $80 if you can install them, if you can't, buy a Haynes Manual for your car...

The Coilovers are going to run you at least a grand, so spend the extra 200 on a set of SRT Inverted BC Coilovers. Then you just need a good Light rim/tire combo and your set...

You do know there are no big brake kits for the regular Neon, just the SRT-4, right? The SRT kits will not work on our brake setup. You must swap out to the SRT knuckles and doing that also requires either swapping to the SRT steering rack, modifing your stock rack, modifing the SRT knuckles to work with your Neon rack... or see if aftermarket tie rod ends will work. The big brake kit for an SRT will not work on a regular neon without some added modification.

Don't go Tien. I know they're a good company and all, but The BC Coilovers from Modern Performance cost less and will handle better since they are inverted and weigh less than the stock setup.

As far as the brakes go, 1600 is peanuttin' ridiculous. Go find a PT Cruiser in a JY with MTX Trans and grab the whole front brake setup and steering rack. Then buy the eBay special Wilwood Deal for $550 that includes a larger 12" rotor and "better" caliper. Then you can have your bling bling without breaking the bank.

Unless your making over 300WHP you have NO NEED for bigger brakes, HP+ pads alone will make a huge difference on stock setup. In fact alot of SRT Drag racers swap BACK to the base 2nd gen setup to save rotating weight for acceleration and they still have enough brakes to bring 'em down from 120+ at the 1320...

Spend your money where it counts...
