front and rear strut bars

how hard is it to just fabricate one of these? where i work we have a fabrication shop with all the tools/ welding equipment that i would need to make one, or should just just stop being cheap on buy the ones off MP?

In my opinion you should buy one of mine why? It puts money in my pocket :lol: seriously mine are much better (read stiffer) than those on MP website. You can probaly make one pretty easily if you have a:
Chop saw
Jig saw
Drill press
welder

You can't just slap on a metal rod.

My understanding is sway bars are like springs, they need to be the right kind of metal to twist and rebound.

I think you have confused a sway bar with a strut bar. He was asking about a strut bar.

No strut bars are just to stiffen the chassis. Anti-roll(Sway) bars have to be made of spring steel in order to flex and act as a helper spring in the corners.

you could always get ebay knockoffs if you wanna go the cheap route, but i love my dc sports front strut bar fits and looks lovely
