I remember somebody mentioned this in a suspension how-to. Can't remember the exact reason, but he mentioned using a zip tie to hold the spring in place.

wouldnt it technically be the strut bouncing around not the spring?
i mean the spring should be seated and be pressure held in place right?

From what I remember, the guy said the spring isn't fully seated with the rear jacked up all the way up. Something about the struts having more travel than the springs.
Have you tried jacking up the rear to see if the springs are seated at full height? If they arent, that might be the problem. Does this happen on big bumps or any bump? Do you have a rear sway bar? Maybe the end links, or some other suspension related part.
Might want to get in there with a rubber mallet and start banging things to find the part making the noise. I've diagnosed a few problems that way.

Get in your trunk and jump up and down to see if it makes the noise when you're compressing the spring. If it is then you probably have a strut problem. If it happens when you drive over a dip in the road then it's on the rebound and the spring isn't being held in place enough so it can move around when the strut is fully extended.

when i press down on my rear end multiple times getting it to bounce you hear a clink clink clink clink noise.
It better not be my struts they are onl a month old. When i put the skunk2s on my stock blown struts it made this noise too.
endlinks cant make a clunk noise can it? since i have bigger bars am lowered and have stock endlinks?

is the nut on the top of the strut fully locked into place? Did you replace them when you switched out the struts? I know one time after I did a swap I forgot to tighten the top hat nut all the way don, stupid strut was bouncing in the hat...

kinda sounds like the spring is bouncing around on the spring perch. Did you or whoever put those springs on, Forget to install the lower spring isolator. Its a rubber layer that the spring is supposed to sit on, keeping it from making noises similar to that.

this might be left field, BUT mine makes that noise and it is cause my tailpipe hits the body of the car underneath. over the left rear wheel.
You would be surprised what like 1 cm does to clearance issues and exhaust. especially if the back squats lower than it did before.
check it out.

dealer, wrecker... all neons have them stock.
Rear coil spring isolators, are what you are looking for... ask BRR if he can get you a part number and price from the dealership.
