Strut bars: Any evidence they add anything but weight?

Have some questions about how to achive better handling and stopping power using different springs, upgrading to coilovers, questions on swaybars, bushings, different rotors, pads, ect... Having any steering problems or questions about steering racks, tie rods, tie rod ends, ect... ask these questions here.

Solidworks has a very nice FEA/CFD package built in. As nice as it is as much time as it takes to make the model and do the FEA you can do the calcs by hand, it's a stupid simple analysis.

Something just came to mind. When I was working on the charger after I gutted it (scrap guy finaly called it weighed in at 22xx 200lb heavyer than I was hoping) the car was up on jackstands and I tried to open the hatch and it wouldnt from the lack of stiffness. I took 2 pieces of 1"id wire conduit crushed the ends in a vice and tacked it to the shock towers(after putting the car back down) the hatch opened afterwards, granted our cars are a good 500lb heavyer and arent made completely out of rust but even a bar that simple made a big difference.
