EBC Brakes

Post by 04R/T » Sun Oct 26, 2008 12:47 am

Anyone running EBC rotors? If so what part number do you run in the rear? I am shopping for brakes for the R/T that has 125k on the original stuff but I'm not sure what goes on the rear.

EBC's website says the part number is USR998 but no one has that part number. Summit Racing shows 3 different EBC rotors on the rear for the Neon, one USR series and two in the GD series. One of the GD's and the USR have the same dimensions, the other GD series is slightly thicker. The thicker rotor is not for the SRT which has an even thicker rotor. What's going on? :tardbang:

Here is what I got from the PDF version of the catolog...

2.0 2000 thru 2004 Neon w/o ABS

3GD Sport Rotor Kit# USR Sport Rotor Kit# Rotor Diameter in "s
GD998.........................USR998...................10.6

2.0 2004-up with ABS
GD7081.......................USR7081.................10.6

I think the 2004-up ABS should be 2000 and up, but those are the #s

Summit has the GD998 in stock

If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

Yeah I think I'll be getting USR7081 for the rear, I can't find USR998 for sale anywhere. Thanks for looking.

If you get the pads as well, get the green stuff. Unless you race a lot or do track driving the red stuff are not necessary, the yellow stuff are purely for track racing and should never be used on a street car.

I would go for blank rotors if possible, although dimple drilled are the best.

Either way, EBC makes great quality stuff so you can't really go wrong.

Sorry to bring up a dead topic, but how are their drilled/slotted rotors? Are they also really good? I see them for 150 online, which isn't too bad, IMHO.

I was thinking of those and the greenstuff pads.

I'm thinking per pair, otherwise they should have a left or right designation, right?

While I would suspect that to be per rotor, since cheap OEM replacements are close to $50/each, you are correct that there should be a left and right designation.

you are right they ONLY come in a pair

i'm running them right now on my '03 and i love them
also i'm using there green stuff pads they are nice but they make alot of brake dust. from what i have read the higher you go up there chart i.e. (green, yellow, red, and i think blue) the less dust you have but they wear out faster <- no clue if that is true
