so i'm changing my breaks for the first time and i'm wondering if monroe pads are any good? also ate rotors? i can get them both new for about 150$ juss wondering what u guys think?
thanks
break question
brakes.. not breaks.. it even says it at the top!!
dont know about the pads or rotors.. i think unless you are going with a "true" performance brand (hawk, etc) then they will pretty much all be the same. i have the autozone pads and they are fine *shrugs*.. and whatever brand of generic $30 rotors from advanced auto parts.. no complaints.

it takes a lot of abuse to destroy rotors. You'd have to drive around and abuse your brakes by letting your pads get extremely low to the point that there was no pad left and you'd therefore scratched/scarred your rotors...
I'm guessing you didn't do that.
If you want better braking performance, get some good pads, and maybe some slotted only rotors. Cross-drilling the rotors do help them cool; however, this decreases the maximum temperature the rotors can effectively hold. Therefore, cross-drilled rotors are more vulnerable to cracking and warping. If you're driving around town, you'll be fine, but if you ever take it to the track you will have problems.
Slotted rotors will eat your pads quicker, but will stop you quicker as well. Think of it like putting your pads against a cheese grater...
