Alright now I'm in trouble...

Ok, so my progress so far with the drums is as follows:

Got the drums off: check

Got the springs, tensioners, and shoes off: check

BUT now I think I've completely screwed myself over.

In the Haynes manual I'm looking at it told me to remove the e-brake cable from the e-brake lever. (which then attaches to one of the shoes) The problem is that the e-brake cable has an amazingly tight spring coiled around it that won't allow me enough room to replace the e-brake lever. Is there anyway I can detach the spring in order to give me some slack? And if not: What the heck am I going to do?

Check ur guide pins all around, make sure they move freely if not they need to be greased up till they do. If they started rusting lighty sand them before and make sure it moves freely and then grease them. I would definitely replace pads and rotors on the rears. The burning smell could be from the pad making contact all the time.

Yeah, I know. I just love to abuse them, though!

Well, I have the drums in the back so I'll take that as replacing the shoes...

Man I hate drums. Need to get a swap going soon. Thanks guys for the quick info!

ohhh I miss read ur OP ok well if u have drums in the rear they might just need to be adjusted but if ur getting a burning smell maybe the brake cylinder is leaking and ur burning brake fluid and may need to be replaced.

Alright well, after thinking about it I decided to just go out and buy all my replacment part for my drums. I bought the drum, the springs and clips and the shoes.

My new problem: I can't get the drum off for the life of me! The manual just says to pull it off OR if it doesn't come off with ease just turn the 'adjuster screw star wheel'.

HUWHAT?

What am I suppose to look for?! I can't see anything that looks 'star wheel' like.

Any help to get this damn drum off would be great!

haha, yeah I got the drumbs all fixed. Had to take out the center console to release the ebrake line. Then that allowed me to get the ebrake lever back in place in the drum. The second drum was a breeze after that. Thanks for the help, latief.
