Okay, so my birthday is coming up soon, and I was thinking about asking for some srt red calipers, until my good buddy (sorry for all the questions dude lol) informed me that a swap requires extra parts etc.

So.... if that's true (?) what's the best way to paint mine? Has anyone done this? Thanks

g2 caliper paint kit, is the easiest, most durable way to paint your calipers. and it will outshine and outlast that dulpicolor crap.

Yup but the difference between that and the duplicolor caliper paint (these are the only two do-it-yourself kits btw) is that g2 is a hard epoxy that dries with much more gloss and durability. not to mention they have more colors than duplicolor.

yeah watch the video on that page. the guy talks funny hahaha. no sanding unless you want to. it comes with cleaner.

Related to needing more parts than just the Calipers... he is correct. In order to use the SRT calipers you just swap to the SRT knuckles, which require different rotors. With the use of the SRT knuckles and the non-SRT rack, when you get an alignment they won't be able to get your toe into spec. Thus you'll have to modify the rack or the knuckle to get the alignment into spec... or just swap to the SRT steering rack. So... yeah, it's not a very easy thing to do just for getting some red calipers. If you're just looking for a different color, as others have mentioned... just paint them.

so how much does this kit come with
like will i need to buy two kits in order to do my front calipers and the drums?
and can i do the drums with this stuff?

i was able to put 3 coats on each of my 4 calipers and still have close to half left over. the paint comes in 2 parts that you mix together. the directions tells you that it will bubble up and it does, but a few coats and everything was fine. once it is dry it is smooth as glass and extremely glossy. it is super easy to clean up as well. i would put it somewhere between painting and powder coating.

i would guess 1 kit would easily be enough to do 2 cars so if you can find a friend who wants the same color as you do it.

thats the main reason why I havnt done it yet, because I dont want red front calipurs, and be stuck with those damnd drum breaks in the rear. ....I want to do the swap is it difficult or costly?

It is actually more durable then PC since PC is like a glaze that is more prone to chipping. The epoxy has a little more give and bond strength.

yeah it's much cheaper ($17 at the auto store) anyone use this stuff?

but i dont think the duplicolor kit comes with gold

BCP400 Red
BCP401 Yellow
BCP402 Black Satin
BCP403 Silver
BCP404 Blue
