H&R Limited Edition Springs. Pix up

Post by sidepipe87 » Sat Jun 20, 2009 3:27 pm

Does anyone know if these are real or knock offs? I found them listed a few places and they have a part number of HR-50899LE but are not listed on H&R's website. I wanted to email them and ask, but they don't have an email address listed. They give a lower drop than the Sport springs it says

They seem to be listed on other sites as well, so I guess they are legit. I guess your best bet is to call h&r and see what info they can give you.

Yeah, I found them listed on two other sites. After a little more research I found out that the part number on H&R's site for Neons is the same except its not followed by LE. I would rather email them since people on the phone don't usually know anything and just waste your time but they don't have an email address listed. I may just buy them once I have the money. I was just curious if anyone had any definitive answers.

I just talked to a guy at h&r and he seemed to know exactly what I was talking about. He said these are special order "private label" springs, which is why they aren't listed on the h&r website. It's for the people who want more drop than the sport, but less harsh than the race. He described them as a "super" sport spring.

Not a problem, I'm actually interested in these springs since I'm looking to drop the neon.

My friend had h&r sports on his passat and they were nice springs, great handling for such a small drop.

Honestly, I love the Mopars I have on now. I just wish the roads were better here.

I've heard good things about the H&R's though so I'll try them out.

Well, just thought I'd update you guys. I bought the H&R Limited Edition springs from Options Auto for $99 new and installed them last Wednesday before Carlisle. The ride is like night and day between these and the Mopar springs. However, I can't say what it would've been like had I had uncut bumpstops on the Mopars. I don't bottom out on every expansion joint in the road anymore either which is awesome. The ride is slightly firm, but not rough. I love it. My only qualm is I'm not as low anymore  Overall, a great performing springs with a moderate drop for a great price.

They'll do until I can afford coilovers

Sorry. I already posted some I'm pretty sure. Let me check.

EDIT: I thought they were in my project log. They're not. I'll post them up when I get home later. Not as low as I wanted, but the ride and handling is phenomenal

Yeah I was thinking they may settle a little bit more still. I love the ride and handling these springs produce, just wish it was about .5" lower.

I'm interested in how much wheel gap there is, and how even the drop is front and back. I'm not a fan of the springs that sit higher in the front, it just looks off for some reason.

It's always awkward raising the car up after it's been slammed, you miss the look more than the ride and performance. I've got a check coming so these are on my list, especiall at $99 for this quality of springs.

Yeah... it's awkward. I look at the old pics and it makes me sad. I haven't had a chance to get any pics of the drop, however the drop is pretty level and there are a few pics of my car from carlisle floating around.

Looks nice, that's about the perfect gap for a daily driver with the roads we have around here.

I was fine with the Mopar drop... I wasn't fine with the fact that my brand new struts were going to be trashed in less than 6 months. And yeah, there's coilovers, but I don't have $800 to blow on Megans at the moment.

That is the PERFECT drop, emphasis on perfect. It's level, yet not slammed down to the fender. I like how the rear seems ever so slightly higher, where most springs seem higher in the front. Thanks for the pics, I'm sold on these springs.

no prob man. yeah the rear is a little bit higher than the front and I don't think they're settling anymore. They've been on there since before the Carlisle road trip. I'm not unhappy with them, I just miss the Mopar drop. I'd definitely recommend these springs though.

Are you running the tokico hp struts on those springs? I'm guessing that's what people are referring to when they say tokico blues.

I was looking at the illuminas, but damn $700 is pricey, that's like coilover prices.

yes sir I am. The "blues" are the HPs. I bought them new from a local for $200. The illuminas are adjustable and overkill. Go with the HPs
