Trac-Control Question

I was wondering if there is anyway to add traction control to my car? Along with adding ABS?

ABS & Traction Control was an option on the earlier cars.
However to add it to a car that wasn't equipped will be extremely expensive and, imo, not worth it.
A good set of tires and skill can beat an ABS system everytime.

Buy an 01-02 r/t, to the best of my knowledge that is the only way you can get the trac control standard

It would prolly be cheaper. You would need to replace the PCM and wire harness(es) just for the electronic end of it. Then the sensors, axles, hubs on and on.... Unless you had a donor car, it would be close to/over $3000.

i have a donor car available if you are very serious about this. but it would be cheaper to buy tristen R/T (flmfhd or JDM R/T, on neoncanda). he was letting it go for 2000

The 01-02 ACR has trac control as well.
And for the record, I allways turn it off when I drive. But it's there

itd be nice to have during the winters.. but for either having to get a new car or fork over a bunch of money.. it aint worth it.. even more so since i plan on getting a new car in a few months

My 2000 came with trac control. And 4 wheel disc brakes.

Some early 2000 models did some with it.. I have a trac control bezel from a 2000 sitting at home right now.

You could install it as mentioned, but it's a rather large under taking.
FWIW the traction control system is pretty much useless in the winter.

as everyone has mentioned, the ABS is a waste unless your on wet blacktop. When it comes to winter driving you are better off with no abs and a stickshift. Mr R/T handled great last year with the traction control off, with it on I could not accel at all let alone control the steering.
Now launching the R/T HARD on dry roads the traction control part of it was nice as it almost simulates a posi diff....

Keep in mind that traction control is nothing more than computer aided brakes so it will actually slow you down if you launch and let it do the work.

^^^listen to the man he speaks the truth! Lol but yeah if you try launching it with trac on it just bogs, with it off it might spin but it will take off a lot quicker

Spinning is good with small engines. It gets the engine speed up into the engines power band.
