Mopar rear control arms and trailing arms
Hey everyone....Im getting ready to finally do my rear srt disc brake swap. Had a question on a few things. Now I did all energy suspension bushings in the front when i upgraded the sway bar to a 24mm (srt) I also did the control arm bushings so the front is pretty stiff and im happy with it. Right now Im sitting on tokico blues and eibach prokit but Im planning on swapping to coilovers in the near future...possible bc inverted since they give the best ride.....now onto the rear only upgrades Ive done is the 19mm srt acrsway bar and I filled the rear strut top mounts w/ window weld poly. It helped a little but I know it needs more!! SO my question...is it worth upgrading to the mopar control arms and trailing arms or am I better off just redoing all the bushings to ES.. Ive head of the other arms like DCRs etc but have heard mixed reviews on how noisy they can be etc... let me know what u guys think...Trying to make sure I have everything I need before I jump into it...Thanksin advance

don't get the Inverted. they are not designed to handle everyday roads. I blew mine out in a few months and BC even told me that they marketed them wrong.
As for the bushings i think it boils down to how much comfort you want vs performance and finding that balance per your taste.

well the car is not a daily driver but i am running a low profile tire so I can see it beating up the coilovers if they cant handle them. As far as that goes Im assuming the regular bcs will be fine.
as for the bushings...i like the stiffness i get in the front but the rear needs a little help...i have the bf goodrich g force tires (215 35 18 ) so they grip awesome but i dont feel it in the back...so i know its needs upgrading. i mean the car only has 29k on it but im sure the oem bushings are far too soft for the spirited driving i do...
and to add...i know most get the mopars because of adjustability but will getting the rear camber plates take care of that...so if i did get the es bushings all around as stiff as it will be those plates should allow me to get everything into spec as far as alignment is concerned....thanks again

id go with the dcr's. mine arent noisy at all but i do keep them very clean and greased. they offer supperior adjustability and stability imo. also with the dcr latteral arms you wont need rear camber plates
upgrading the trailing arms might help as well. i personally havent done this but plan to in the future.[/u]

yea see ive gotten such mixed reviews on them im scared to try em lol...i did find that they make dust boots for the heim joints so keeping them clean shouldnt be a prob since shes only driven in nice weather....
as for the trailing arm all i see is the the new ones are an upgraded bushing so ill save some cash and install the es ones there....

yeah id like to get dust cover/grease cups for the heims on mine as well. my cars a dd for the time being but they dont get to relatively dirty.
modern sells the mopar traillings arms and i dont think they are very expensive. along with the es bushings the mopar trailing arms would be a nice upgrade

yeah or you could get the dcrs and mopar trailing arms, along with the bushing kit and then sell the old lateral arms with the new bushings to make up for some of the cost. just an idea lol
EDIT:
heres the trailing arms or "tension struts"

I am running all of the above
DC arms, MP coil-overs, ES bushings, 3 way ajustable swaybar, KW camber plates.
No complaints about the arms whatsoever. I bought them from Juan who complained about noise, but I have yet to hear it.
One thing to note is that the biggest difference come from upgrading the tension strut bushings to the ES ones. It seems that Chrysler built some compliance into those bushings to keep the rear civil for normal drivers. Swap in poly and the car becomes a whole different beast. Do all of the above? Then the amount of oversteer becomes up to you

If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

I have these control arms new in the box still... never tried to install them because I'm nervous about breaking the bolts off in the knuckle. I'd run them before the DCRs though since the Heim joints WILL wear over time and start clunking. Matt used chromoly Heim joints on his with grease cups and they still wore out in less than a year... I'd go with the Mopars/SPC. Same thing
As for the coils, as mentioned go with regular BCs as the inverted will blow. If they weren't good enough for everyone else on here that runs them don;t you think people wouldn't run them?
Personally, my Megans are just fine.

yea man...i am so on the fence about the mopar control arms only because im not sure the bushings on them are any better then oem. If I did go w/ the DCR's I would be on top of them and I dont drive the car that much so that may help save them even more. But I dont know .....ugg lol..
as for the bc inverted I was misinformed thats why I came on here to figure out the truth lol..i will be getting the regular ones as soona s I can sell my setup right now. thanks for all the help.

My guess is the bushing. From what I can tell from the oem PN's all neons use the same strut. They might be bent a little more to accommodate wider wheels.

There are no sales codes associated with them, like the springs/sway bars. Those have specific pn's for each trim level.
Some ppl will argue that the SRT rear tension stuts are like the Mopar Performance ones from the factory, but I do not see any proof of that. If you went to the parts counter, and bought replacements from the standard parts list, you will get the above parts.

Rear Tension Struts feature a high-durometer bushing material designed for
heavy-duty and competition use. The revised design results in improved toe
stability (reduced bump-steer), which virtually eliminates rear wheel hop under
heavy braking. Provides more positive suspension control for improved driver
feedback and dynamic stability.
