I swapped around the front pads this afternoon. Haven't had a chance to test it out but i'll keep you guys updated.

Sooooooo....
It still does it on the same side.
What next? Rotors? Bad caliper? Pissed off birds?
I did notice the little...wing clips(?) on the outer edge of the pads (pushes off the inside of the caliper) were rusted to shiatsu and one of them was slightly bent, but those were the one from the passenger side...

remove the caliper and test drive again. still makes noise?

Turn the music up = solution
No but that would be driving me crazy. I don't know what it could be besides something rubbing or not greased..

Oh believe me, it drives me absolutely bonkers. It makes me not want to drive the car - which sucks
Everything is greased up more than an 80's porno.

the metal tab on the pad is appropriately called a "squealer" to notify you the pads are worn out

But then why would the pads that weren't squealing on the passenger side start to squeal on the driver side, while the ones that were originally squealing on the driver side all of a sudden stop squealing when put on the passenger side?
Also, wouldn't they squeal
more when the brakes are applied?

Pull pads and rotors LIGHTLY sand the pads to remove any glaze. Sand the rotors until you get a uniform finish on them then clean everything very well (you should use a full can of brake clean here) Reassemble everything using copper anti-sieze as opposed to brake grease.
If that doesnt work its a bad upper strut mount bearing

I doubt they are your problem, I was just stating that they are called squealers

UPDATE:
So I kinda got the sqeaking noise to go away.
I Replaced:
-pads
-rotors
-caliper guides
-guide boots
-caliper/bracket bolts
-and even the caliper bracket itself
Now the squeak stays away pretty much all the time, however, now I'm getting a seriously freaky knock/crack and wobbling sound.
Sometimes it's quiet for the entire ride home, sometimes it's there the whole time.
The
wobbling noise kind of sounds like...a percolator: "blub blub...blub...blub blub blub...blub blub", but I can feel it in the wheel. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, its rate of repetitiveness is speed dependent (faster noises when speed increases).
The
knocking/cracking noise is just freaky on its own. Coming to a stop, or applying the brakes roughly around 30mph-down, will create this horrifying "CRACK CRACK CRACK CRACK CRACK" inside my d.s. front wheel. You can also feel it in the brake pedal and steering wheel when it happens. I have noticed that the caliper has been making contact with the wheel at certain points, however I'm not sure when or if it is the cause of the noise.
That noise doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, I know it will happen immediately as I start out because, as I leave my parking space, I will hear one single "crack". This cracking noise is also in conjunction with the wobbling noise (If this noise happens, the other noise will happen also).
The cracking noise also can sometimes be heard while turning sharply.
List of what I've checked/tested:
-tightened the caliper-to-bracket bolts
-checked the bracket bolts
-checked the rotor
-wheel bearing doesn't wobble (shake tire test)
-tie-rod seems tight
-axle doesn't appear to have much play in it
-no rips in the cv boots
-greased EVERYTHING
-clearances look good, even with the brakes applied
I'm at a loss. I'm about to go buy a new caliper, but the caliper doesn't show the normal symptoms of dragging, and I feel it'd almost be pointless.I've also considered buying 3mm spacers to push the wheel away from the brakes to see if that'd help, but I also find this pointless as this all should work with stock parts.
CLIFF NOTES:
-Squeak pretty much gone
-Now
cracking and
wobbling noises
-
Wobbling noise sounds like a percolator and its repetition is speed dependent. Can be felt in steering wheel.
-
Cracking noise occurs during braking/sharp turns and can be felt in the pedal and steering wheel.
-Clearances are good, parts look fine.
Help me?

The blub blub blub noise is 99.8% your wheel bearing.
The cracking noise could be a worn out supension componant, LCA bushing or tie rod.

Hmmmm ok.
I've got some questions then:
-If it is the wheel bearing, how come the sound is inconsistent and only seems to appear when the cracking/knocking noise is present?
-If the cracking/knocking noise is a bushing, how come it is repetitive and can be present under any type of braking? I can understand maybe a few pops, but this is a multitude of cracks/pops/knocks until the car stops.
-Also, if it is a bushing, how come I can feel it in my brake pedal? It's like a lump in my pedal.
Thanks, John.

The wheel bearing may be loose, but not 100% the cause of the noise. Could be why the caliper is hitting the wheel tho. The halfshaft may be bad, making the loose wheel bearing move enough to feel the wobble in your brake pedal, like a warped rotor.
Just a hypothesis...
Edit:
Oh yeah, if you remove the caliper, and vise grip the brake hose, you can make some pretty awesome turns in one direction when applying the brakes.

lol. I'd rather not try that.
I'm just puzzled. My step brother even noticed the noise yesterday while driving back from Easter dinner; yet it never made a peep on the way there. In fact, the car was super smooth on the way to dinner; even with 4 people and a bunch of car parts.
I can't describe the noise it makes but, it's not as much a wobble, it's more like a tone...like "BUNG BUNG BUNG....BUNG...BUNG BUNG" but at same octave as say....the horn; not high pitched (like a squeak), but not a rumble or drum-like sound either. And it's never constant, thus a percolator-like repetition.
I can make it go away for a couple seconds if I lightly apply the brakes, but then it comes back.
The knocking noise is just creepy. If I apply the brakes just stiff enough the noise won't happen, but any pressure below that causes that almost 'out of round' feeling, except it's more of a 'THUNK' feel in the pedal; compared to a wobbly feel with a warped rotor. If you've ever felt the ABS system pressurize on an Audi, it's that distinct 'brush against the pedal' feel; like something is smacking into the pedal.
The axle hypothesis is interesting, but the axle appears good? Is there anyway to test that out? Everyone keeps saying wheel bearing, so that seems like my only lead. It's just strange that the bearing shows no normal (at least to me) bearing-wear (train-like or howling noise and camber wobble).

jack the front tires up with just the axles exposed. have someone give it some gas and see if the sound is there at all in the wheel bearing or axle? idk. i wouldnt wanna rip out the axles if you dont have too

I'm inclined to say a wheel bearing as well at this point

Interesting idea, however I'm a little iffy on giving the car gas while it's in the air.

Check the ABS sensor also for signs that the tone wheel has been contacting it. If the caliper has been hitting the inside of the wheel, chances are if the bearing has enough play, the tone wheel could be rubbing the sensor. By pressing the brakes, you are using the caliper to push/pull the rotor if there is play in the bearing.

I had a bad vibration and knock noise... I could feel it in the steering wheel and you could like feel it in the floor board.
Passenger wheel bearing was bad...
Replaced hub/wheel bearing and it's all good.
I also had the control arm bushings changed to prothane ones since they were trashed. Supposedly those oem bushings only last like 45-50k... check yours.
Jack your car up and hold the wheel at the 12 and 6 and wiggle it... see if there is any play in the wheel bearing.
squeak squeak

I had this problem when I had semi-metallic pads on my car. Switched back to OEM pads and no more noise. It drove me up the freakin wall !
