I'm a bit confused here... What kind of input do you need? What is the goal here? Pretty noobish thread for an OG member lol.

I think you'll regret it. But if you do decide to sell them & if they are in good condition then I'm sure you'll have no problem selling them.

I just don't know much about aftermarket struts and springs besides the drops of the springs. I could talk all day about coilovers. So far I'm hearing that its a bad idea

why do you want to down grade back down to springs and strut? more comfort? maybe that will help with the guidance..

I will say this, the Sportlines are too soft for their drop. The same can be said of pretty much all aftermarket 'drop' springs. The Tokico's are great struts for a mild setup, and will hold up pretty well even with too low of a spring. Even with cut bumpstops, I bottomed out both with the Eibach ProKit springs and the TEIN S-techs, which = a horrible ride when going over even moderate bumps and dips in the road.

But the real question is, what are you trying to accomplish? What caused you to consider this?

I'm thinking I might want a smoother ride than I have with my coilovers

Are you retarded? I just sold my sportlines and blues for Megans, it's night and day. I KNOW you'll regret downgrading and the fact that you have to question your judgement proves you won't be happy with the outcome. Just stick with what you've got man.

If anything, for a softer ride, I'd just go back to stock.

Yeah, I don't want to be a 4x4 again. I was just curious if it was gonna be any smoother than what I have. It seems not, so I'll just keep the coilovers

i rocked dereks tien stechs and tokicos and i loved it.... with good sways it handles pretty damn well, then again i compared it to ebay coilovers.... but its a nice ride and leveled out mild bumps and gave a good ride height...

Do the megans not have dampening adjustments? If not I would consider upgrading to coils that have dampening adjustments

yes they do got the 32 levels of damping on the top of the coilover top hat

I think you'd be happier with a higher quality coilover than a spring/strut combo. Something where you have the drop you want but you have creature comforts too. KWs and Mopars are both like this, nice drops (nothing absurdly ground scraping of course) and a "factory" ride.

Seperate compression and rebound adjustments are needed for a really comfy ride. Im not sure what springs Megans use but Eibach offers 2.25 and 2.5 springs in all different lengths and rates. Try a soft main spring with some stiff helper springs at the top.

Make sure your dampers are set no more than 10 clicks from full stiff to get rid of bounce

On Megan Racing coilovers? Right now I'm set 3 clicks from soft on every corner and it doesn't seem to bounce, more of a slap. But it is still stiff as hell over shitty PA highway seams.

Generally any coilover that "rides like stock" is probably sprung like stock, i.e. has sissy spring rates. Quality valving can help, but only to a certain extent. I'm starting to think that coilovers have fallen too low on the 'racecar parts on a streetcar' scale. They're not for everyone, and should be on the car for their performance purpose, not just for aesthetic purposes. Those who don't understand just how rough a race suspension rides tend to find out the hard way (pun intended).

Hudson - If you're ok with a little fender gap, I would recommend Eibach Prokit springs on Tokico struts. Will handle good and ride much better than the Megans. Mild drop, but that's part of the deal when you want a smoother ride. Suspension tuning is much like any other mod on the car, you compromise one thing for another.

your only option for a smooth ride again is a stock suspension setup... any drop spring will have a higher spring rate which will make the ride stiffer...

Honestly I contemplate going back to stock from time to time.....because i do have Hotchkis sway bars which will keep the car pretty level in the turns...but then i remember the 4x4 stance and forget about it...

If considering Pro kit's:

I like these far better. Plus they are less $, and just from the general feel, I think they will last a lot longer.

go with BC coilovers they are a nice setup.

Megans and BCs are pretty much identical... As I look through old pics and see the 4x4 stance, I wanna slap myself for even thinking of this. I'll probably think of it again so I can slap myself then

We can all take turns slapping you in July. :D

Edit: We no longer need a PiƱata.

we'll see how drunk i am. the will come a point where either i won't care if i get slapped or i'll REALLY care if i ge slapped. its hit or miss on which reaction happens

i wont lie.....the ride from my BC's does get old after a while.............but then i drive the durango, love the smooth ride.....but then i'm reminded that i have to actually SLOW DOWN for turns, lol...

if I were to ever buy another neon for a DD...it would definitely stay 4x4 and just get upgraded swaybars...
