1gn suspsnsion (kinda a how to)
1gn suspsnsion (kinda a how to)
duno if this should be here or "how to" but ill slap it here...
if putting 1gn suspension on your 2gn and dont wanna get the knuckles milled heres some food for thought
you need to use your top hats, you WILL need to get front 1gn knuckles 5 bolt as well you will need the 00-01 wheel bearings, 33mm wide rather then 39mm like the 02-05 style. along with those bearings you will need 00-01 style hubs for this size of bearings.
because you have now switched the 2gn hubs to 1gn hubs the location for the tie rod is WAY off and your toe will be absolutely screwed and \ ^^ / (where the ^directs the front) is what your wheels will look like. you dont need to get longer tie rod ends as there is enough of the tie rod itself inside the end to still have 1.5" inside the tie rod end.
the rears however there is not much difference in the clevis 2gn to 1gn. you can either swap to the 1gn rear set up and follow the same as the fronts or you can just take a grinder and take off the minimal material needed to be removed (as i did)
check and check and check until you have the right thickness
if anyone else has some info add on here!
i just did my 1gn coilovers on my 05 and after running into some bumps everything has come out fine!

yup going to have to do this next, cause I am not getting low enough with my custom setup, my pinch weld behind the front wheel is only 3 inches from pavement, need that extra half inch...
