Ksport Springs, the real deal?

So I think I am going to lower my car, with some KYB Struts and possibly some Ksport springs. For $125 off of eBay, are they worth it. My concern is not aggressive drop, but more for handling and I dont want to fly through struts. Does anyone have experience with them? Thanks for any input...

If not, which springs would you suggest for the money?

Springs like those are very mild as far as handling improvements go. Most of the springs available for these cars aren't much stiffer than stock. Also, the KYB Neon struts are considered an OEM replacement equivalent; they are not designed to be used with aftermarket springs. Last I heard the OE units were the only ones offered by KYB. Having said that, I would recommend at the very least going with Tokico HP struts, since they are valved to work with increased spring rates and a lower height. They're also very affordable and extremely reliable.

I've had it all, and in the end, nothing comes close to coilovers.

Tokico's aren't THAT affordable anymore. Pretty much anywhere i've looked except a couple places they are upwards of $399. Add another 125-200+ for springs (depending on brand), you may as well save for a few months and get coilovers at that price. Since the Tsunami in Japan, Tokico's jumped from 279 - 399! BOO!

^No kidding, I had no idea that prices were that high for them after the tsunami! A good set of coilovers is right around $900-1000+, so waiting is indeed a better idea. I'll be the first to admit that I wish I had.

Thanks for the info guys, and yea, I seen on modernperformance.com they are $399 :(

I dont really think I need coilovers, but may just do it if I get some extra money. Going from 450 to 1000 though, geeez. (of course this is before I knew the KYB were OEM.)

$450 is without the $150-$200 set of springs (depending on shipping costs). You can find coilovers for under $1,000 if you look hard enough. I recall seeing them for $800 something. That's only a couple hundred more.

if you're really set on springs/struts i have the tokico/ksport combo on my car. I've been riding on them for about 60-70k and the front right finally just started leaking, so i consider that pretty good since i drive on them every day on shitty PA roads. They handle great and its not going to bottom out on you like you were slammed. I'm just glad i bought the setup before prices started going up.

on a side note, the megan springs off ebay offer a very similar ride height and feel, however the coating on them is crappy and comes off in a year leaving your springs to rust. my K-sports still have the original coating after 3 years and no rust (and i live in the rust belt)

^^ Interesting. I read on one of the FAQs that the Megans have one of the stiffest rates of all these springs we're listing, which is what attracted me to them. I suppose after a year or two you could always take them off and have them PC'd, but that's a real pain it seems.

I don't see rates for KSports, but the rates for Megans compared to everything else is what sold me.
