ok so im having trouble deciding what kind of springs and struts im gonna get (as some of u know). please help me out by writing what kind of springs you have and what u think of them (in terms of handling, ride quality, drop, etc). feel free to rate your struts as well!
im torn between eibach pro kit and tein s springs, and tokico blues are the only struts i have on my mind right now, so please tell me what u suggest.
PS. POST PICS TOO!!!!!! Id love to see what this stuff look like, especially the spring/strut combos! thanks lots guys

I have the Mopar 2nd Gen Lowering Springs (not to be confused w/ high-rates) and Tokico Blue's. It's a great ride, corners really nice and is not bouncy at all. I would post pics but my car is in the shop right now.

stock suspension. I love going mudding with the rednecks out here in Kansas. The 2 toothed kansas whores dig my 4x4 look.

Dropzone D1 coilovers..... feels like the wheels are welded to the car... definitely not a street setup.

How long have you had those tein springs on for? Wouldn't stock struts blow on that?

by blazesxt
well i just put them on about a week ago but before that I had on Goldlines for about 6 months and the struts seemed fine

Umm pretty good for a 2' drop. of course having 215/40/17 helps a lil too. The car handles great with the Dc sports f/r bars. One of the reasons I went with the Tein was because my good buddy has sportlines on his 04 sxt. I have always wanted them but I looked on ebay and found these with the same amount of drop for about $70 cheaper. Plus hey they're JDM!!

im pretty interested in performance so im gonna go with whichever springs handle the best/ride the best. drop is imoprtant too. is 2" a lot? do u scrape a lot?
Posted: Fri Jan 06, 2006 11:27 pm
by blazesxt
nah believe it or not I dont scrape that often.

Perform best and ride best are totally different, ,to get the best handling out of it ur prolly gonna sacrifice alot in the ride quality category.

tein-H springs and stock srt struts on my new baby... pretty comfy ride and real nice look, though with hochkins bars and dc sport rear bar the car isnt much of a tight turner...

back in the day i was lowered on 1st gen gold lines. i don't recommend it to anyone that gets car sick easily

lol ill keep that in mind. i know that to have one thing u need to sacrifice the other. put it this way, i want good ride quality and GREAT handling. body roll is a no no, so i wanna totally get rid of that. i plan on goin with big sways, especially in the back, and ill have f/r tower bars by the time i get my suspension.
rice-eater: u mean to tell me that with sway bars, tein h, and dc rear tower bar your car doesnt handle good? wtf everyone praises the handling of their cars ive talked to who has that setup. i want some dang oversteer!

i dont have to park on a steep incline

and i admit when i park i do have to get on the drive way at a slight angle but 90% of speedbumps im fine also my srt wheels 215/40/17 kinda gave me a slight lift from my 15" snowflakes

Handling is relative... the avg joe who hot dogs it on the street has no concept of a truely balanced well handling car and how it responds when pushed to the extreme... esp when compared to a driver with experience in auto-x and track days who has driven different cars with different suspension setups.
Just because you lower a car on some cheap springs... doesnt always mean the car handles better... Progressive rate springs are the stinky...

Eibachs (see www in sig). Ride is very good for lowering springs. Too bad they are comming off soon... SRT-4 struts with Koni inserts and Hotchkis springs go in next (higher rate springs, should help with cornering).
